Yesterday Congressman Joseph Pitt from Pennsylvania warned Jesse Jackson that if he went to China he would be in violation of the Logan Act -- I haven't looked up the Logan Act yet, but I will right now.

Rep. Pitts says China crisis only half over
Washington—Rep. Joe Pitts (R, PA-16) made the following statement this morning:

“Getting our servicemen home is good news. What they’ve gone through is another reminder of the risks our men and women in uniform face in service to their country. President Bush has handled this situation expertly, preventing a tough situation from becoming any worse. But we’ve only accomplished half of our goal. China still has our plane, and holding it is an illegal act. Boarding it and even holding it are technical invasions of American territory. This crisis will not be over until that plane is returned. The repercussions of China’s aggression and apparent theft of American technology remain to be seen.”

Rep. Pitts is a member of the House International Relations Committee, a Vietnam veteran, and a former Air Force navigator and electronic warfare officer.
