OFFIC. CONFIRMED: DAVID IRVING ARRESTED IN AUSTRIA...
Finally it's out. As I wrote in reference to his website yesterday, David Irving was arrested in the afternoon of Nov.11 in the Austrian Fed. state of Styria in St.Johann i.d.Heide/Hartberg due to a legible warrant of the Viennese Fed. Court, dated from Nov. 8, 1989.
According to a request and following statement from police Col. Rudolf Gollia, speaker of Austrian Ministry of Interior, from today, Irving was on his way to a commemoration day of the student's association "Olympia" in Vienna where he was invited to hold a speech. Currently he is dentention imprisonment as was confirmed by the Viennese department of public prosecution.
The harsh Austrian laws prohibit any discussion about questioning the existance of gas chambers in the 3rd Reich and moreover any possible "praising" and "similar" attempts of justifying NationalSocialism. Irving was arrested according to violating the ยง3 of the Austrian Laws against NationalSocialist "reactivation".
If anyone's freedom of speech is targeted - no matter how "stupid" his words may sound - there is simply NO FREEDOM OF SPEECH. Throwing someone into jail because he states "stupidities" are totalitarian measurements, similar to the which-hunts from the dark times. If someone promotes wrong facts refute him with the correct facts - or ignore him. You can't "protect" truth by law - because truth speaks for itself - otherwise it can masquerade - as anything...
One can be punished with terms of prison for having not "right"(LOL) thoughts about certain subjects. You can doubt there were WMDs in Iraq, you can (almost) question the official version of 9/11, you can doubt whether the Moon landings actually happened - all without being thrown into jail and being thrown on the stakes of modern-day's inquisition.
Sideline: On the other hand the Supreme Court of Austria (OGH) has ruled that the usage of the terms "xenophobic" and "right-wing extremist" are part of the freedom of opinion and freedom of science/scholarship.
So tell me, why is the "left" ruled "right" always? I think we do know..
