The death of Syrian Min. of Interior Ghazi Kanaan, 63 has been labeled by the Syrian Govt. as 'suicide'. The strange timing of his passing just before the U.N.-report on the killing of former Lebanese Prime Minister Rafik Hariri is published fuels even more conspiracy theories - a term that even BBC is using in this case.
The Hariri assassination prompted immediate suspicion of Syrian involvement - in spite of repeated denials from Damascus - but was spun on and on by world's -medea. "But from Syria's point of view, it has brought nothing but trouble" - says even the BBC article.
The article continues - "...The Hariri killing and its aftermath are posing a serious challenge to Syria's President Bashar al-Assad.
If the UN report were to implicate senior Syrian officials - people close to the president - Syria would become even further isolated and face the possibility of UN sanctions.
And there are some in Washington who would seize the opportunity to press even harder for something they have always wanted - "regime change" in Damascus..."
In this paragraph you can "sense" the meat, "feel" the build-up of anti...ci...pation. What is labeled as a "political thriller" - is simply a set-up - a plot, planned by a long hand.
Hariri's killing by a "hit-team", possibly even with a micro-nuke to make things sure, the mediazation of the public uproar" in Lebanon - putting the blame on Syria, the forced troop-withdrawal of the Syrian units who kept the status quo in the torn-apart country for years (so giving room again for "destabilization") - and last but not least the good bye to Bashar al-Assad - a draw to be expected to come - so "occupying Syria without a single shot.
Israel's wet dream for a long time.
Mission accomplished, just the Iran left to go - and this could be another easy one, if we take into consideration that newly elected "hardliner" - Iranian Prezi Mahmud Ahmadinejad is "One of ours". At least a "Brother" of similar Brothers. If we might assume that Khameini was set in by the powers behind the U.S.admin - as the Shah was - what's speaking against - that Iran's Prezi Ahmadinejad knows his "tasks" as well?
Fact is, that Kanaan has asked the U.N. investigators for "witness protection" in exchange for "revelations" on the Hariri murder.
When the Lebanese daily "Al-Mostaqbal" writes today that "the Baath-regieme is behind the 'suicide' of Ghazi Kanaan" - this is simply another beat in the boatrace of spins for the dismanteling of Bashar al-Assad. Kanaan was the long-time friend of former Syrian vice prezi Abdelhalim Khaddam - the "specialist" for Lebanese matters - fired by Assad this June. So the spinning speculations go further - it COULD HAVE BEEN Kanaan who might have REPLACED Assad in case of a coup de etat...
Though nobody mentiones Israel and/or the U.S.Admin (but isn't this all the same?) who have been long-time players in the theatre of Beirut/Lebanon with all the neccessary contacts and means to conduct such a Psy-Ops.
An open war against Syria would have been fueling unneccessary oppositions and create "unholy" alliances of former holy countries - which are situated in the European Union, for not to speak of the Holy See itself. So, in the case of a possible coup de etat (pulled by those usual "internal, opposed" Army officers) these obstacles would be off the table.
See? Nothing unusual - just the same ol' song...
