Eid al-Adha also falls just before the Persian New Year, so the ceremony will also serve as a good omen for the coming year.

Muslims don't believe in luck, we believe that all things happen for a purpoise according to the will and plan of Allah. Random chance or luck are not involved and these concepts are contrary to the concepts I mentioned in Islam. As most Iranians are Muslim, it goes to reason that only poorly educated muslims who don't understand their religion would believe such a thing.

THE KORAN: TESTIMONY OF ANTICHRIST

"The worst woes will come to those who heap their grief by blood of sheep."

No such verse exists in the Qur'an( this is how Muslims commonly
transliterate the name of our holy book from the Arabic It reprsents a more accurate pronunciation) I have never heard of such a verse.

The Egyptians do not all worship the same gods (excepting Isis and Osiris) or have the same religious practices. The Thebans sacrifice goats, but not sheep.

Egyptians are predominately Muslim and only worship Allah, any who follow these other belief systems are a minority or even just a very smsll cult, the religion of over 90% of Egyptians is Islam, they are Muslim.

MAKKAH (AROL)

March 20, 2001 - Muslims throughout the world are marking the festival of Eid Al-Adha. The festival comes at the end of the annual Hajj pilgrimage to Mecca in Saudi Arabia.

The Hajj occurs in the Islamic lunar calendar in the month of Zul-Hijjah from the 8th to the 13th, the main days are the 9th known as the day of Arafat when the pilgrims stand in the plains of Arafat just outside Mekkah. and the Next day when the pilgrims perform many of the rituals of the Hajj, this day, the 10th is also the Eid ul Adha of feast of the Sacrifice.
commemorating the willingness of Abraham to sacrifice his son Ishmael by Allah's command (a sheep or ram was substituted in his place).

I was blessed by Allah to make the Hajj last year, when Eid ul Adha occurred on Mar 16, 2000ce, this year pecause of the differences between the lunar and solar calendars, Eid ul Adha was on Mar 5,2001ce. To make a point of reference, those muslims who are on Hajj are too busy with the activities of the Hajj and do not celebrate the Eid., this was the only time as a Muslim
that I did not celebrate this holy day.

anyway the Hajj and the Eid occur at the same time but are not directly connected, and the Hajj was finished well before Mar 20 of this year.

These are comments from a Muslim to correct errors that I recognize and to provide usefull information to those interested in this matter.
