The plane you must be referring to is the one that carried Oliver North and Robert "Bud" McFarlane to Tehran to make some sort of deal with the Ayatollah.

People who have read about this deal will remember that they carried a chocolate cake with a key on it and a Bible.

The mission made both of them look crazy. I don't remember if I ever really knew the truth behind this mission.

Does anyone else have any information connecting Safra to the Iran Contra or October Surprise scandals?

I can't help but wonder if that Israeli company, whose name I can't remember right now, but I think Rodney Stich talked about it in his book, Defrauding America.... happens to be owned by Safra, or financed in some way by Safra? The company referred to above is the one that shipped all of the arms that the Reagan campaign promised Iran when they made the deal with Iran to hold the hostages until after the election with Carter. Carter lost because he could not free the hostages before the election.

Also interesting in light of this Safra connection to Iran Contra. Safra is a Sepharidic Jew. Right about this same time, Israel brought many Sepahrdic Jews into Israel. Did Safra do something for Israel and he demanded special treatment for Sephardic Jews as a quid pro quo?

Also, there is a murder trial going on in Israel right now.... As a result of investigations related to the murder, documents implicating Israel in Iran Contra have surfaced.

Could there be a relation between the Israeli company that was the intermediate shipper between the United States and Iran and Safra and this murder trial in Israel?

Someone with more time and access to Israeli sources needs to follow up on this.
