And I don't mean Hadashi, Saddam and the Shah - but just Saddam and the Shah of Persia. ;-)
You may have read that the US is now dangling this poisoned bait under Iran's nose: WTO membership ("Hey, why not just nuke us and get it over with??") in return for delay of their Uranium enrichment program until the end of July.
Last week Pascal Lamy - an ex-EU-"commissarsky"- has been introduced as new CEO of the WTO...
But let's hear what Hadashi is stating:
Whatever else their imputed failings, the Shah of Iran and Saddam had one thing in common: They spent a portion of their oil-derived wealth on infrastructure and the welfare of their people. The Shah had big plans for Iran when he was removed from power by "Islamic fanatics."
Nor forget that among the primary beneficiaries of the Contra scandal were the Iranian Ayatollahs, and that it was Israel that acted as intermediary...
And that it was the Iranians, NOT Saddam, who gassed the people of Halabja.
Best...
-HADASHI-
Halabja? Heard, the Brits have been "involved" too. Some another "test-run" perhaps?
Since Iran is evidently being run by Turkish Brothers (Q: How many fingers does the "real" Khomeini have? A: A complete set, but in better working order than the choppers of the "real" Hussein), they will hem and haw and say Aw, shucks, okaaaay, but just don't throw us in that pariah-state "briar-patch" (BP). LOL!
There are two interconnected reasons for the delay:
1) USraeli bombers CANNOT hit Bushehr inter alia if the Iranians proceed on schedule and fire it up later this month with Russian fuel. That's still a no-no.
2) And the settlers still have to be removed from the West Bank settlements at minimum, lest the Holy Battle for the Greater Plains of Megiddo turns into an outright and GENUINE holocaust and "Never Again" turns into "Like a virgin, [getting gassed] for the very first time."
That will take until December, so prospectively no "fireworks" on the horizon this year.
So it's all comes down to the "usual" geopolitical theatre.
Stick and carrot, carrot and stick. Same deal offered to the Taliban in March, 2001. Take the money (and a hike) or take "a carpet of bombs".
