Templar: A fair enough question -- It would be foolish to ignore the efforts that the current administration has evidenced in an attempt to acquire more power. Many have speculated on an attempt to instill Marial Law at the turn of the century by any means possible, whether precipitated by government operatives or by an actual revolt of the populous (doubtful).

Worst case scenario would be that enough public facilities either fail or are "made" to fail and activating a State of Emergency with FEMA as the controlling agency would become a reality. In such an instance, the worst case scenario for that situation would be the rationing of food, fuel and transportation -- although some have also suggested that gun confiscation is possible, I would not anticipate that... it would without a doubt lead DIRECTLY to armed insurrection by the populous.

It has also been speculated upon that a possible "camp internment" scenario of individuals and families alike would take place... well, to that I say, "make my day"... not much chance -- that would precipitate an even greater resistance from the general public. Even if foreign troops where brought in (that has been speculated on) to enforce such a measure, there would NOT be enough to cover the Nation to enforce such an act.

It is very possible that some public utility facilities could in fact be affected and it would then be desireable for the individuals of this country to have "planned ahead" for a big "camping trip" in the middle of winter (possible cold weather) with sufficient supplies to "weather the storm".

The most questionable proposition in my mind is the supply of fuel... If the imbedded chips in the Mid-East do not "stand the test" of Y2K, then there could be a fuel shortage in this country which would affect electrical supply, heating sources and transportation both of individuals and commodities to the local "store" -- The electrical supply would most likely be compensated for... the cold weather heating fuel could pose a problem... it would most likely precipitate limitations on travel with that factor being enforced by Military troops -- Personal supplies should have already been taken into account by the individuals concerned. -- If the fuel factor was severe enough, Martial Law being enacted would be a likely possibility.

I have prepared for those around me, I am waiting to see "what happens" on that faithful day... I am not discounting the administration making an attempt to garner more power through some sort of action, but I will not yeild my "rights" to any armed factor. I have already "been there, done that" in a wartime situation and will not relinquish to a man made power.
