Joe may have a fascinating message board, but with a grain of truth here and there, Joe doesn't really know what's he talking about. Colt's major stock holder is not Iraqi, he is one of the relatives of Samuel Colt. And, while Colt has been plagued with financial problems, the purpose of doing what they are doing had nothing to do with trying to "stiff" their creditors and employees. It has to do, entirely, with survival.

The owners of Colt [not this Iraqi banker] met secretly with Clinton twice and cut a deal to get themselves out of the liability lawsuits that threaten to destroy the gun industry in America. They succeeded. In exchange for a White House call for Colt to be dropped from all class action lawsuits, Colt has agreed to stop manufacturing handguns for sale to the general consumer population.

Strum Ruger will follow in a week to a month. The courts will suddenly find the gun manufacturers are not liable, and those lawsuits will go away...but, in the meantime, so will have Americans' access to firearms. The 2nd Amendment remains intact, but no guns will be available for people to buy.
