If the justice system didn't have enough problems, a new twist to the macabre surfaces.
This one is titled, Jumping on the Bus.
Here is how it works.
A convict facing time creates or even buys information floating around about someone he may not even know. Or the subject could be a family member or a close friend. It doesn't really matter.
What matters is a person facing jail time creates a story implicating anyone just to get a great plea in a bargin with prosecutors.

Over the last decade, countless stories have surfaced where inmates searching for a deal, have created evidence and sold it to prosecutors in exchange for reduced sentences. A number of cases I came across in my travels through the justice system involved inmates selling their own mother's in exchange for a deal.

In a ruthless culture that has been created by mandatory minimum sentences, it is easy to see how desperate people facing prison time would do or say anything to avoid years in prison.

The sad truth is prosecutors promote the Jump-on-the-Bus movement. Prosecutors are not there to find truth and justice. Leave that concept to Alice's Looking glass. They are out to win cases, and nothing else matters.

Any system that gives support to lies and the ruination of innocent people for the sake of winning a court room shoot out, should be dismantled.
