the ex chief of the kremlin administration under ex russian president boris yeltsin, pavel p. borodin, was yesterday in new york arrested by request of an international arrest warrant issued by the lord justice of switzerland. well, if you don't know who is pavel borodin, you couldn't care less. but if you would know you would be electrisised.

the presidential business administration of the kremlin is an independant authority, regulated by a presidential decree, which administrates mainly the assets of the ex comunist party and is responsible for the kremlin maintenance, the presidential family and takes care of the salary payments of all central governments officials including the the congressmen, the diplomatic corps, the high court judges etc.

under yeltsin this highly prestigous post was occupied by pavel p. borodin, ex governor of jakutsia, a highly modern and pragmatic and to the west open manager and personal friend and trustee of boris yeltsin. his offices were located in the kremlin. one of the few persons who had 24 hours access to the president.

the arrest warrant of switzerland, claims that p.p. borodin was involved in money laundering of bribes paid in connnection with the kremlin restauration for the 850 year jubilee of moscow. the contract was won by swiss company mabetex and mercata. the restauration of the kremlin was one of the prime targets of the whole renovation campaign in moscow.

the lord justice in russia, stopped all investigation in this case last year by clear leak of any indices. the lord justice in switzerland continued the investigation despite this fact. therefore the arrest.

this arrest could turn out into a "nuclear explosion" for the usa and switzerland. as friend of boris yeltsin, p.p. borodin knows, like few people in the world so many things, that once he starts to speak half europe and usa could be shaked by real earthquake of 10 of the richter.

switzerland was not very lucky to prosecute russians, two major cases were lost and switzerland is confronted to indemnify falsly accused russians business people.

considering the weight of pavel borodin, i must assume somebody wants to accelearte the international game. in the crisis we are, it would be wise to release borodin immediately.

in fact this morning the russian foreign minister ivanov has asked the usa to release immediately and unconditionally borodin.
