Recent postings on the RMN Agents' Forum illustrate that crises not only chase many individuals back to their root values, but can also de-evolve people into historically earlier cultural attitudes.

Times of turmoil and stress tend to drive human beings into those mindsets they acquired early in life. As the temporal milieu defines the range and character of our behavior, any threat to that milieu brings out our root beliefs. Never mind that we have to some degree "evolved" or altered these programs; those later and less deeply-rooted concepts fall from us like layers of clothing, when the heat is on.

I am certain that the resurgence of political and religious conservatism in the US was an effect of the oil crisis of the mid 70's. We were floating on a liberal dream of unprecedented prosperity, free love (denial over JFK and Vietnam), civil rights and big cars. But idling in line at the pumps gave us time to think, and some of us realized the current consensual dream was deeply dependent on foreign oil, and therefore transitory.

It is possible to erase civilization in the blink of an ELF signal, and send humans back to the days of the Tribe. In the last two months I have seen enough tribal totems trotted out for display in this Forum that I cannot refrain from pointing out the trend. Last summer's postings were mostly news, intelligence and analysis; today most of them reflect the private religious or philosophical convictions of the agent.

No problem, per se. The War is spiritual in essence. But this also means we're now short of meaningful news, real intelligence (i.e., the Factions are too busy to report) and certainly objective analysis. We should recognize this, and acknowledge that in their place we have posted lots of Tribal beliefs masked in New Age Lingo. (Why does the approaching Messiah require a space ship, for God's sake???)

Every tribe must have an external enemy to perpetuate itself. A Goat. In last month's postings here, Jews were the Goat. This month it's homosexuals. Current postings predict next month's Goat will be Aleister Crowley. The Forum-monitoring NUWOs understand this process (for they represent little more than Tribalism gone hi-tech), and must be laughing their asses off.

Meanwhile you and I are arguing about foreskin and the Protocols of Zion. And, given all the sexual possibilities offered by all the bodily orifices and all the bodily appendages, you and I are discussing which appendages may be properly introduced into which orifices, and by whom. (Homosexual play starts years earlier than puberty, and is thus not an aberrance of kundalini.)

I'm reminded of the German pastor who summarized his country's experience under the Nazis: "They came for the Jews, and since I was not jewish I did not protest. Then they came for the homosexuals, and since I was not...." Do you get my point?
