Yes, but we've been hearing the price of gold has been held artificially low for several years, as part of keeping the market shored up and allowing folks who are "in the know" to purchase quite a lot of it for themselves, before the market comes tumbling down.

It's possible, I think, that the current election troubles are part of a distraction, first delaying events, then obscuring their causes. In other words, it won't be troubles on the horizon that cause "a run" and/or crash. Rather, the inevitable crash will be blamed on "the people, reacting to this constitutional crisis" or some such thing. However, RuMills has been speaking about this kind of scenario for quite awhile.
