FIGHTING FOR THEIR GUNS

Canadians in large nunmbers are fighting Liberal Party legislation that requires all handgun owners to be licensed. The provincial governments of Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba have announced they will refuse to enforce any federal gun control law. A former officer of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, Bruce Hutton, has formed the Law-Abiding Unregistered Firearms Association and has toured the country urging concompliance and exhorting fellow gun owners to "come to jail with me." More than 20,000 Canadians have joined his group. Only 142,000 licenses out of an estimated 7 million have been issued. No armed criminals have turned over their guns, likewise fewer than 4 percent of law-abiding citizens.

PARENTS PREVAIL
Parents across the country are rebelling against the public schools that ask personal, sexual questions in "student surveys". Angry parents descended on a middle school in New Milford, Conn., after learning that their children had been asked about oral sex in a survey. In Ridgewood, N.J. parents have filed a federal lawsuit. In San Antonio, Texas, a lawsuit resulted in a parent-teacher review board. In Radford, Virginia the school board simply barred such surveys.

FREEDOM FOR PERSECUTED PUBLISHER
On Oct. 25, German patriot Guenter Deckert was released from prison after serving five years. There is no freedom of speech in modern Germany, so Deckert had been sentenced for arranging a speaking engagement in Germany for revisionist historian David Irving. Subsequently, years were added to his sentence every time Deckert exposed the reasons for the attacks on him.

BILINGUALISTS DEFIANT
Arizona voters rejected bilingual education by landslide proportions -67-percent-on election day. But Robert Zamora, a school board president, has called on schools to defy the law. Meanwhile Ron Unz, who led California and Arizona in sacking bilingual education, said New York may become the next battleground. Future potential targets include Colorado, Texas and Massachusetts.

Robin's edit: I believe we have too many Robert Zamoras in this country. This man is lucky he is not defying the law by advocating English, the National Guard would show up, George Wallace style!
