Elegant and excellent! Your story tells us many things about ourselves, eh? Sitting Bull KNEW the 'Math of Magic'. He knew how to manipulate energy. There was nothing 'black' about it, because his intent was as pure as the driven snow.

But We, The People must not be allowed to 'own' this ability that was known to the Native Americans, nor know how to wield our Intent, or we might just stop giving the 'milk of fear' to feed the Power Vampires: Government, Corporation, Religion, Factions, et al. So the great THEY came along and stamped it out, destroying this great culture and ultimately forbid the "Ghost Dance".

Still, they were only playing out what had been played out for eons: 'Find out what the Energy Wielders know, then kill them and keep the knowledge for yourself.'

They killed the Druids, the Cathars, the early Jews (Cabalah), Jesus and the early Christians, and even the Templars...anyone who knew the Math of Magic... because someone somewhere understood the power that lie within the Human Mind! Indeed, when they realized that the old Latin Catholic Mass had enough symbolism left to cause people to discover their own magic, they got rid of it too. (Hey, good things come from strange places sometimes...)

After all, heaven forbid that we wake up to the fact that WE, individually and collectively, have the power of Sitting Bull. He killed Custer, after all. What might we do? What might we do, indeed...

One of my favorite symbols is the Kokopelli. That-bug like, flute-playing critter that adorns Southern Indian Art. There have been many ideas about what the symbol really stands for, but this is my favorite explanation:

The Kokopelli is the living Earth and the flute he is playing is 'man'. When Man, having learned language, clears out the programmed filters that cover his mental eyes, he becomes the 'hollowbone', the flute. Thus the earth 'plays' man and makes beautiful music indeed.

Nowhere in there is there need for 'laws' nor society, nor government, nor someone else's religion. Just plain Creative Energy straight from the godhead of being!
