The corrupt government of modern-day Germany, threatened by Germans' nationalist sentiment, is taking steps to ban and suppress it.

After World War II had ended, the Allies blessed the Germans with a constitution after their own heart. (As of today, there is still no peace treaty with Germany.) The newly established German parliament set up a bureacratic office for "President for the Protection of the Constitution."
No other western country has the equivalent to it. The Communist East German "Stasi" which was the official watchdog that, however, went overboard and became a department of terror and intimidation. The version established in the western part of Germany did not receive the same powers as the Stasi but had its share of misfits up to this day.
Now they are preparing to deliver a blow to all nationalist parties, starting with the NPD which is in the process of being banned.
The NPD is not neo-Nazi. It bends over backwards to weed out violence-prone young men. It has been demonized only because it attracts great numbers of young Germans. At their annual party day they assemble 5,000 to 6,000 mostly young Germans.
This is perceived as a threat to the system. The "protection people" promptly accuse them of criminal tendencies. Government agents have paid "skin heads" to embarrass the party with public displays, actually putting them on the payroll to incite with racial slogans. These actions have been revealed in the press-but not prominently.
The National Zeitung, published in Munich by Dr. Gerhard Frey, also has an alternative party, the DVU, which he founded. The government wants to eliminate it, too.

The DVU is also non-violent and although it takes an anti-unlimited immigration stand, does so in a well-adjusted fashion. There is no hatred of foreigners in either party. But the fact that these viable parties exist is a threat to the corrupt politicians in charge of German politics.
One scandal after another has caught up with former Chancellor Helmut Kohl, including corruption, with millions of marks collected illicitly for murky purposes.
The present coalition has no better record but so far has managed to keep the press at bay.
Frey has kept meticulous records on the heads of the protection office. The first one, Otto John, fled from Bonn to East Germany in 1954 and later was sentenced in absentia to four years as a traitor. The saga of these peculiar protectors extends to this day.
The most recent scandal is that of Ludwig-Holger Pfahls, put into office by Kohl. He has been on the lam for almost two years.
Pfahls started to prosecute any pro-German who dared to speak out and banned many clubs and organizations because of "right-wing" extremism." Today he is considered armed and dangerous, and is the object of international searches.
Pfahls collected four million marks in bribes from the notorious weapons dealer, Schreiber. now he is suspected of also dealing in selling off properties in East Germany after the fall of the Wall.
Kohl has been accused of being involved in a bribery scandal with the French government under Mitterand. at least 17 million marks ($8 million) were paid in bribes in the sale of the East German Leuna-Refinery to the French company Elf-Acquitaine.
Kohl now swears that he always was careful to keep Pfahls at a distance. Pfahls was installed in 1985 by Kohl to watch for criminal elements in the patriotic movement.
Pfahls predecessor, Herbert Hellenboich, had to switch jobs when it became known that under his stewardship a traitor by the name of Tiedge was working for the Stasi.
The official who served in the position before Hellenboich, Meier, killed his girlfriend in a car accident on a joy ride and seriously injured a number of other people. This brought him a substantial fine and a farewell to the cushy "protector" job.
Meier's predecessor, Guenter Nollau, was in charge when a man working in then-chancellor Willy Brandt's office was exposed as a spy for the East German communists. This was the spectacular Guillaume Affair. Exit Nollau.
Before Nollau there was one Schreubbers who turned out to be a former activist of the National Socialist Party in the Third Reich. He had to go too.
The German people continue to suffer under this rogues' gallery of criminals. Perhaps this proves that no decent German can be found to spy on his own people and to criminalize innocent patriots.
The legendary chief of military intelligence on the eastern front during the war years, General Gehlen, turned his papers over to the CIA in 1945 and worked for the post-war German government establishing the government news agency or Bundesnachrichendienst..
Referring to the Nollau affair in National Zeitung, Gehlen said: "It is amazing what peculiar people are in leading positions in the German bureacracy and especially in those positions which carry the responsibility for the security of Germany."
