: About the alleged 500-year cycles: Did the jewish temple fall
: soon after Jesus' time (0 AD)? My history is really weak.
The city of Jerusalem and its Temple fell in the year 70 A.D.
: And Rome fell about 450 AD.
Yes, 476 to be precise. The last emperor, known as Romulus Augustulus, was overthrown by the same army that put him into power, because he faied to pay them. The warlord/king who succeeded him as ruler of central Italy didn't call himself a "Roman Emperor" mainly because the prestige of the title had been degraded so much by then that he just didn't think it worth his while to bother with all the ceremonies that went with the title.
The Battle of Hastings--where
: the English lost to the French, from which the Middle
: English language arose--was in 1066.
And 1054 was the year of the "Great Schism" in the Christian Church, formally separating the Western church (which believed in the supremacy of the Pope) from the Eastern (which didn't). These two branches of Christianity are now known as the Catholic and Eastern Orthodox churches. Interestingly, 1054 was also the year that a great supernova was visible in the sky, whose remnants are now known as the Crab Nebula. No known documents mention any connection between the two events, but who knows.
: The Renaissance began
: in earnest with the Gutenberg printing press in 1495. There
: was also the Columbus voyage of 1492, and the rise of the
: British Empire in the 1500's. The British Empire collapsed
: in the mid 1900's, the war against communism ceased in the
: mid to late 1900's, and the Internet--the new Gutenberg
: printing press--rose in the late 1900's.
"Communism" lasted only a single century, so it doesn't really belong in this discussion on its own, except maybe as one phase or aspect of long-term opposition to capitalism and to liberty.
: The separation of America from England in 1776 does not occur
: on a 500-year interval. Did America ever really separate
: from England?
Yes, we did, formally. And it occurs to me now that 1776 was exactly 1300 years after the fall of Rome in 476. Some see America as the "New Rome", and of course the number 13 appears repeatedly in the symbols adopted by the new nation. So to the 13 stars and 13 stripes on the original American flag, the 13 arrows in the American Eagle's left hand, 13 olive leaves in his right, 13 stripes on the shield he carries, 13 stars above his head, etc., can be added 13 centuries separating the formal end of old Rome and the the formal beginning of the United States of America.
: Did God's people win the "Cold War," or was it
: really the communists who won?
"God's people"? We are all God's people, everyone who has ever lived. Or no one is. It always has seemed awful strange to me how two countries can fight each other viciously while both sides say they are fighting for "God and Country".
: It seems like the different tribes of "whites" keep
: separating and recombining, as if they can neither stay
: apart nor stay together. What does this indicate? Temporal
: attraction and spiritual repulsion? And then spiritual
: repulsion turns into physical repulsion.
The same thing is true of other races as well. American Indian tribes fought and made alliances, so did people in the Far East, in Africa, indeed all over the world. This tendency has nothing to do with "race".
: I believe that the war for freedom--the war against
: communism--was not finalized with "the fall of the
: Berlin wall," but it will be finalized soon. The
: Christians are expecting the jews to convert, but I am not
: expecting it.
"Communism" is but one passing form of tyranny. The war for freedom is the war against totalitarianism in all forms. The enemy may go by the name of Communism, Fascism, or something else entirely. It can be a faction within our government. But the American Revolution was also a war for freedom. It is up to us today to value and preserve our heritage of freedom, and to deemphasize and eventually eliminate the "Imperial" aspects of our nation's character. I believe that ultimately we shall succeed.
BTW, when writing about Christians, I extend the courtesy of capitalizing their name. Please do likewise when writing about Jews.
: Must ZOG, the whore, America, then fall, as we are the new
: evil?
Are we? "ZOG"? Oh please, come off it.
