The bombing of a $1 billion American warship, the U.S.S. Cole, proves once and for all that the United States should pull out entirely from the Mideast and never look back.
How much more American blood has to be spilled before the United States wakes up to the fact that keeping the Mideast safe for Israel is not in our vital interest?
Tragically, the 17 sailors killed on the ship are not the first to have lost their lives in a bad cause. In 1967, 34 servicemen died as a result of a premeditated Israeli assault on the U.S.S. Liberty. In 1982, 241 U.S. soldiers were killed in a bombing attack on their barracks in Beirut, Lebanon.
In the Persian Guld War, many U.S. soldiers lost their lives and countless others suffer from a mysterious disease that our government continues to deny exists. These are just the dead that we know of. Undoubtedly many others have quietly perished while carrying out this insane U.S. policy.
Our policy makers will never make the decision to evacuate this bloody region. George W. Bush and Dick Cheney, and Al Gore and Joe Lieberman have already made it clear in the debates that they zealously support the Israelis in all their sadistic, bellicose endeavors.
Perhaps if Israel did not have the unconditional support-and an endless supply of U.S. taxpayer dollars-from the world's largest economic and military power, the tiny Mideast country would not sow dissension in the region and murder its own native inhabitants. Only then would the world begin to know true peace in the Mideast.
Moreover, while the attention of the American public and its leaders is focused on the Mideast problem, atrocities are happening here in the United States, which all other newspapers and the self-serving fakers in Congress ignore. For example, pending legislation in Congress, S.2516, would permit the attorney general to go over the heads of courts and pick up anyone suspected of committing a crime. This is totally unconstitutional."The internal affairs of the United States continue to be ignored."
