The United States has operated under a "National Economic Emergency" since 1933 and we still have elections (fraudulent though some of them may be). The cowards in the Congress can not seem to get the cojones to change this state of affairs, yet no despot like Richard Nixon has been able to "cancel" them out.

"This emergency will include the suspension of the constitution."

If so, then under common law all powers of the federal government revert immediately to the people in the States. Or is every State government to be cancelled, too? How does that work?

Why wait until October? The wild fires are burning now. The West Nile Virus is here now. The New York Giants suck now.

There are ample reasons to "lean on," each one more bogus than the next and all of them paper-thin, as relates to any so-called "emergency, whether national or local." Furthermore, Clinton's popularity and his public believability are not the same things!

Why not do it now when thousands of families are on vacation and "easy prey" for bully-boy tactics? Why not do it now with the morons from Capitol Hill on vacation?

One must assume that the higher echelons of the Republican Party know this plan is in existence: why then are their Congressional candidates and members continuing to raise money like there is something real at stake? Not one of them is concerned about this and they are all sell-outs? When does any large group of people ever get to keep a secret like that? Members will be in campaign mode in October -- scattered about the country -- that will make it difficult to arrest them all! There have to be some men and women who, for personal jealousies or private ambitions, will work to resist and over-turn this or any such plans! They cannot become big political stars if Clinton hogs the limelight, again.

Or does Janet "Burn 'em All" Reno have a secret plan to corral this herd of cats? The creation of the largest police state operation ever known is going to be carried off by a palsied dipsomanic and her second-rate assistants, adjutants, and general hangers-on? You have got to be kidding on that one!

By the way, she is not looking so good these days: it wouldn't be such a great plan to have to rely on her for "generalship."

Finally, people are continuing to buy guns and to prepare for the autumn hunting seasons; the gun "buy-backs" by HUD and other agencies have not proved to be much of a success, unless getting decrepit pieces out of the attic counts as a win. The number of pistol permits issued in Connecticut has continued to grow or remain steady, and that permit allows a person to buy one, two or many guns at one time -- yes, I know it is an infringement but the point is, people continue to apply for permits, get them, use them, and they continue to go shooting. If every person in this state who owns a pistol is designated for removal, the whole rotten Clintonista gang is going to be mighty short of taxpayers, and real soon. Or is the police state take-over to proceed with no usage of monetary funds, with everyone penned up in their homes waiting for a hand-out of government cheese (of which there ain't any), as if we are all on Prozac? I don't get it.
