Let us not spread false rumors, Larry. Remember, I repeatedly said again and again, (with the example of 100 cups of tea - one having strychnine) that TEOTWAWKI at Y2K rollover was a VERY LOW probability. (The public archives hold all my letters). available at:

Secondly, I said my GREATEST FEAR was that it would be so mild that people, now like yourself, would say that preparation is foolishness. Although billions of dollars were spent averting Century Computer Problems still predicted problems with refineries and MANY OTHER serious problems occurred and are occurring because of the Beach Bug.

Thirdly, I said that the first real evidence would not be seen until February 15th, when oil would go to $30 per barrel. It reached $30.05 on February 14th. (I cautioned people to wait for these results with the story that I repeated and repeated of the two fellows of the razor culture.)

In March when prices started back down I told people that it was only temporary. That $3 gas would be seen by June 15. It was $2.99 in Chicago on that date, and certainly in Canada where I live. This last week there was a MAJOR refinery explosion in the Near East and continuing natural gas problems in the Mid-west. Do you really like today's gas prices?

For 18 months I have been telling people that this summer was a time of crises. ASTOUNDING things have happened in the news in support of my paradigm but which I could have never individually and specifically predicted. I watch in as much amazement as anyone.

Weeks ago, I particularly picked July 9-23. If you think the people meeting at Camp David on the 11th, don't think we have the possibility of a crises, you have little comprehension of what is going on. I no more know the day of the nuclear holocaust than anyone, but I think we can all pretty much pick the century and there isn't much left to this one.

I seldom answer letters of your attitude, and am not sure what prompted me to answer yours. Over a thousand people without the eyes to see have now left this list (over 1500 remain).

I have made it very clear, REPEATEDLY, that I am NOT a prophet and have NO revelation. I explain carefully all my sources and reasons. Each one must decide for themselves.

I never put anyone on the list, and I never take anyone off.
