This message was emailed to me last night, and warrants reading, and action! It is an example of how Big Business all over the world is trying to snuff out the Small business operators of the world.

I must apologise for my intrusion, but I have something I must say.

I am sick to the death of big business doing whatever it wants. I have just been basically blackmailed by a large company (Bel Investments). I presently lease a small shop in the UK, I took on the lease for the premises one year ago with one year left on the lease, the agreement was made on the basis that the lease would be renewed at expiration. Being not too wise on this I did not check to see if it had been put in writing, too trusting I am!

Now Bel investments have decided they want to sell the premises, they offered it to me at twice the market value! I of course refused, now the lease has expired and I have been given the option, leave in 7 days or sign a lease which means they can throw me out on 3 months notice, but I have to give them a years notice. They also want me to pay 3 sets of lawyers fees for this and they also want a large deposit.

So now I will have to relocate in 7 days, an impossible task given that the minimum time to set up a lease nowadays takes much longer.

Anyway what can I do against a big company throwing its weight around? In courts very little.

So I am doing what I can, basically telling everyone I can my story, so If in the future you have reason to deal with bel investments or know anyone else who has reason to deal with them. Just think of me for a second. If they can do this to me, they can do it to you.

They will probably try to sue me for this , well good luck to them as I don't have anything now, I used most of my savings renovating their premises.

Ach well , whatever happended to decency and honour or did they
ever really exist in this world?
