Remember the Reichstag .... terrorism is the fuel of totalitarians .... Hitler started his terrorism campaign, as soon as he took office, with phony staged brawls in the streets. Here, in the 90s, the burning of churches, the OKC bombing, the Seattle protest, and those nauseating warnings for the week preceeding New Years Day (Y2k).... all sent a similar message: "domestic terrorism is a real threat, so you need federal government to protect you from "right-wing extremists" ...".

All a pack of lies.

The so-called "cyber-terrorism" threat is absolutely phony -- another Orwellian boogie man, designed to create the illusion of helplessness and a dependence on federal government -- just like the Y2k nonsense. We might just as well be building bomb shelters to save us from extraterrestrial attacks -- that's how ludicrous this is!!

Like the Y2k embarrasment, I would be willing to offer the government a bullet-proof solution that included security from natural disasters, intruders, infiltrators on the inside, foreign enemies -- even Bill Clinton himself. I would even offer a money-back guarantee if somebody could actually hack it. Ahhh ... no takers, eh? .... I guess it must not be that important .... just our national security - hey, no biggy. What's a lost country here and there?

Truth is .... I made the same offer on the web last year, with regard to Y2k. No takers back then either. None from business, none from government .. HA HA

If our national security were really at such risk, why wouldn't anybody seek such solutions from the digital geniuses? I will tell you why - it's all a crock!!

This is hardly rocket science! 90% of the critical security is in the "warmware" (i.e. people). As long as businesses have an incentive to earn more money, we are pretty safe but, if we go communist, any conspiracy is possible. If the gatekeepers in government and big business are corrupted, and big business management prostitutes itelf, then we have a problem of a different sort ... not a technical one .... a moral one.

But, that would take a conspiracy so vast that ... nah ... that would mean the end is here. Smart people understand that. Can't buy that one.

Our government is quite capable of defending against these "threats" - even with technology from the 80s. The whole idea that foreign enemies are "probing our networks" is horse-crap. Then again, when the AP trumpets "hard drives found", and the people just sit and say "Well, that's good .. I guess", we are surely a sheeple ready for slaughter .... please prove yourself a real American and send your congresscritters a note telling them you don't buy this cyber-terrorism horse-crap.
