You know, I actually more-or-less agreed with the first post in this thread - the Holocaust (a term not widely used until 1970*) IS being used as an excuse to justify acts on the part Israel and some Jewish groups that really can't be justified. But that doesn't mean it didn't happen, just as spurious claims of racism by black Americans don't mean that racism and slavery weren't real.

Why do you feel the need to overplay your hand so pathetically, Jana? I dare you to document in any way this alleged "re-emergence" of the dead! Did they have their shorn hair magically reattached, and their extracted gold teeth returned to
mouths? How about the eyeglasses that were taken from them and distributed to "Aryans"?

I've seen photos of the piles of hair and of glasses, and I've seen and spoken to living survivors with tattooed numbers on their arms, who saw their friends and families taken to the gas chambers. The only way those killed will "re-emerge" is via reincarnation. (One of these days I may undergo past-life regression, to see if my suspicion that in my last lifetime I met my death in the Nazi "showers" is correct.)

*To prove that the term "Holocaust" was not commonly understood in its present meaning before 1970, listen to the recording of "Wooden Ships" by Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young performed at Woodstock in 1969. Specifically, the introduction:
"We're gonna do a kind of a science fiction thing. It's about people... escaping from the holocaust, whatever it may be... Leaving it behind, and escaping in their wooden ships." Clearly the term "holocaust" as used here refers to a contemplated World War III, and not to World War II. If the latter usage of the term were common at the time of the concert, the word would not have been used in this way.
