: As unusual a family name as any I've seen.

The spelling of Dalrymple suggests a Frisian or Viking origin, for this clan, and that places this family in England or Scotland about eight hundred years prior to the 1600s as mentioned. It is always good to look to the Frisians or even to the Angles for names with "y" following a hard consonant (of course, there are other sources for such spellings).

Much was made of the fact that Donato Dalrymple "wasn't really" a fisherman. I cannot recall ever hearing him say he was.

Actually, for my money, it was the reporting of CNN and MSNBC which created the "idea" that Donato Dalrymple was a fisherman. As I recall, he only said he was out there fishing and it is and was his cousin, Sam Ciansi (spelling?), who earned his living by fishing. Now, they have had a falling out.

The leftists who control CNN were squeamish enough in showing the images of the "Gestapo-like" raid on the Gonzalez family house. But MSNBC and Fox took great delight in it. Fox, of course, used the footage to shower Janet Reno in buckets of mud.

But -- on Thanksgiving Day last -- it was certainly Donato D. who was "bothered" by the presence of that inner tube and debris, and who persuaded his cousin to go back and look again, as they were cruising in their boat. However, I guess it was the cousin who dove in the water to bring the boy Elian close enough to the boat to retrieve him. And what of the numerous apparations of the Blessed Mother which have been seen in Miami and south Florida?

: I was reminded of fairy tales, elves, dwarves, and gingerbread when I first saw the 'fisherman's' name in reports of the controversy manufactured around the Elian boy.

I don't know who it is that is doing the manufacturing, here:

it looks to me like what has become a fairly common occurence, which is people leaving out of Haiti and Cuba in whatever kind of boat or raft that they can concoct, flounder at sea or wash up on our shores (near death). It seems that the Rockefeller clan seized on this as a way to make an entrance into Cuba, and save something of their bastard son's "legacy."

William Jefferson Blythe (nee' Rockefeller) has proved to be much cannier and much more savvy than those of us who have come to oppose him ever thought possible. Whatever else he possesses, his personal magnetism and his ability to coerce and intimidate his opponents, and to use blackmail against both his closest friends and his dearest enemies, continues to astound me and all persons with whom I discuss these matters. It is now apparent that his minion, Greg Craig, is working directly with Castro.

The Rockefellers want to get into the Cuban economy. There are plenty of people who think that they can get their lost estates and personal wealth -- as once confiscated by Fidel and Raul -- returned to them. The hard-core leftists want it badly, too, for different reasons.

So -- we should expect a "rapprochment" with Cuba by Christmas time. The Big Creep, in my opinion, could care less whether Algore wins or loses. I see this whole thing as having its origin in Divine Providence. The fact that the Rockefellers want Clinton to use it for their own greedy purposes -- is nothing new, nothing at all new -- and that is another story entirely.

I guess I would find these comments on the Dalrymples more illuminating if I knew whether or not this family was part of the Free and Accepted Rite of Scottish Masons, etc. etc., and how many of them there are in these United States. Perhaps the correspondent could forward some research points or ideas on that particular line of inquiry.
