ECHELON is opening its' doors, or should I say vault, to accept payment for securing your business data.

Sealand for quite some time has been rumored to be a Project Echelon facility. Outside national boundaries it is free to form its' own laws and police.

Today excite has a big story on them. Not from the intelligence angle, but from consumerism! I about sucked my coffee down the wrong pipe!

L O N D O N, June 7 — Seven miles off the coast of southern England, a group of American Internet entrepreneurs is planning to set up the world’s first offshore data haven.

Based on the independent principality of Sealand, the self-proclaimed smallest principality in the world, the new company called Havenco promises prospective clients complete security for their computer files and freedom from the laws and regulations of any government.

At a time when governments are creating new laws to control and police the Internet, Havenco — complete with its own armed guards, radar defense and its own passport control — hopes its new home may prove as popular as offshore tax havens.
