I got an email this morning that may confirm what I've been thinking about Emily Howell's co-op program through Antioch College.

From the email (I hope my correspondent will excuse this sharing of information - I mean no disrespect):

"HERE IS AN INTERSTING PIECE --- FT BENNING IN THE HOME OF THE SCHOOL OF THE AMERICAS --- WHERE TORTURERS GO FOR THE PHDS. IT LOOKS AS IF THIS GIRL WAS IN OVER HER HEAD. WHOEVER SUCKED HER INTO THIS SHOULD BE EXPOSED AND CHARGED WITH MURDER. IF IT WAS ONE OF HER PROFESSORS, SHE/HE SHOULD BE CANNED."

"I was watching Good Morning America this morning. The parents of one of the girls killed in Costa Rica was on. When asked if they worried when their daughter traveled, the mother stated she worried when her daughter traveled. She listed several places. The one that caught my ear was "Protest America at Ft. Benning Georgia". Do you know what this could be? Photographers killed? A school project? Sounds like there might be more to this than we are being led to believe."

I learned from a story in the Lexington Herald-Leader Online (this publisher archives its online stories, but to obtain them at a later date one is expected to pay a small fee using a credit card) possibly written by AP Eric Nunez that Emily Howell "wrote her own" co-op proposal and had it approved by her advisor(s) at Antioch.

It will be remembered from my earlier post entitle "Antioch College" that a search of the Antioch College website - http://www.antioch-college.edu -, as well as a look at their Co-Op page indicated that there is no Co-Op program in Costa Rica. Seperate (sp?) searches of the Antioch site for the phrase "Costa-Rica" and the word "photography" each turned up six error messages saying "URL unavailable" which may have indicate that information was present but rendered inaccessible by order of the school's administration or Emily's faculty advisor upon receipt of information regarding her murder.

My point in saying all this is to suggest that someone recruited young Emily during her stay at Antioch and aimed her at Costa Rica, either to acquire intel or to create an incident resulting as a consequence of her probably naive and semi-conscious activities in that foreign place.

Any ideas?
