That has got to be one of the most cynical statements I have ever heard. I am certainly for peace "ïn general" - although not in every specific instance. And war is certainly bad, and should be avoided whenever possible - but no, not "ät any cost".

"The price of liberty is eternal vigilance." Hopefully, we will one day reach the point where people are sufficiently vigilant that would-be tyrants are unable to gain a toehold. I do believe it is possible, and that war will not always be the "natural order" of things. That day isn't here yet, but some day (I trust) it will be.

Peace is not just the absence of war, true peace is a state where all people are treated justly.

May peace prevail on earth.
