If it looks as though the Bush controlled Republican Party locked out the Black vote in South Carolina in order to keep the African Americans from voting for Keyes or McCain... this will be another issue that inflames racial hatred.

Jackson: Bush 'morally bankrupt' By MIKE SAELENS

CHICAGO, Feb. 23 (UPI) -- The Rev. Jesse Jackson says Texas Gov. George W. Bush is "morally bankrupt" for his association with the far right wing of the Republican Party.

Speaking with reporters in Chicago Wednesday, Jackson responded to a question about Arizona Sen. John McCain's Republican presidential primary victories Tuesday in Michigan and Arizona by saying, "You cannot inherit the American presidency -- you must run for it."

Jackson, himself a former presidential candidate, added, "It seems that many people feel Bush was born on third base and he hit a triple," referring to his large early lead for the Republican nomination that was built on "moral capital" for compassionate conservatism.

"But once you go to South Carolina and wrap yourself in the Confederate flag -- the flag of secession, sedition, slavery, segregation, sabotage -- and then go to Bob Jones University, where they preach white supremacy, and then back to Texas to execute its 120th person, you become then intentionally morally bankrupt," Jackson said.

Bush has allowed 119 executions to take place since taking office in 1995. Another Texas inmate, a woman, is scheduled to be put to death Thursday.

Jackson spoke after a Rainbow/PUSH LaSalle Street Project luncheon and speech by tunes.com chairman and chief executive officer Howard Tullman on the so-called "digital divide."

During his remarks, Tullman said the digital divide between white and black consumers using the Internet is steadily narrowing.

Tullman also said some form of Internet "tax" is inevitable.

"I think the use tax model, perhaps something like a flat 7 percent, would work fine." Tullman said. "I understand the processing might be a problem but there are millions and millions of dollars in sales that are going to other countries and that hurts everyone, even local communities, because of lost revenue."
