The Manchester Guardian is reporting that European investigations into the 11th September are leading the investigators to point the finger at Great Britain. [1] This goes some way in agreeing with Lyndon Larouche, that Britain is a major centre for Islamic extremism, and that this is fostered by British Intelligence for the purposes of propagating terrorism, a "rent-a-terrorist" service, from which the British can gain.

One source close to the French investigation told the Guardian that before the events of September 11 "Britain acted - and, to some extent, may still act - as a kind of filter for parts of al-Qaida. The main European centres for spiritual indoctrination were London and Leicester; any weak links were weeded out there. The new recruit would then be sent to suffer in the camps in Afghanistan. After passing both tests, the mojahid could take his place in the sleeper networks in Europe".
A senior German intelligence officer summed up the mood when he said: "All the clues lead to London. All the roads lead to London."
...Security sources say the evidence produced by the continental Europeans is in many ways as flimsy as that brought by the US against Lotfi Raissi, the Algerian who was released on bail this week. He was originally accused of training at least four of the hijackers involved in September 11. They say that Qatada's role has been overstated, that he is a spiritual leader and a rabble rouser but that there is no evidence of his direct involvement in terrorism.
[Abu] Qatada fled his home in Acton the day before parliament passed the new anti-ter rorist legislation and security sources refuse to say whether he would have been interned. His disappearance has raised questions about his role (recently, the French daily Le Figaro claimed that Qatada was an MI5 agent, something the security services vigorously deny). "

That last paragraph is interesting. In October last year The Observer ran a story in which Abu Qatada claims he was offered help by MI5 to escape Britain to Afghanistan with an IRANIAN visa. This was after America had named him on a US list of suspected terrorists. [2]
And in November of last year, The Sunday Times reported that an MI5 agent had given information to his MI5 handler which was ignored. The information was on a London Mosque being used by Qatada for fund raising for a Jihad. The report reads "The informer said several of the men were engaged in a counterfeit credit card ring that raised tens of thousands of pounds to fund terrorist activities abroad. The cards were sold for £150 each to dozens of supporters of Abu Qatada, the cleric, who then used them to buy electrical goods, furniture and clothes. The goods were then resold on the black market. Some of the profits went to buy communications equipment such as satellite telephones, computers and, it is believed, weapons in eastern Europe. The goods were then shipped to Islamic fighters in Algeria and Afghanistan. " [3]
So it would appear that Qatada was of interest to MI5, but information gained from spying on him was ignored. And when he was wanted by the Americans, he was offered help from MI5 to escape to Afghanistan. This is to be expected though. The same thing occured with bin Laden/Osman, when intelligence on him from Sudan was refused by British Intelligence, and he was allowed to flee there to Afghanistan. [4]
D'ya know what? I think Larouche is onto something.
