Dr Judy Wood was born in Maine. She attended Virginia Polytechnic Institute (Virginia Tech.) and she obtained a Bachelor’s Science Degree in Civil Engineering, a Master’s degree in Engineering Mechanics (also known as Applied Physics).
She stayed at Virginia Tech to complete her Ph.D. in Materials Engineering Science (at the Department of Engineering Science and Mechanics). She also completed some of her Ph.D. work at the State University in Blacksburg, Virginia. Her Ph.D. dissertation involved the development of an experimental method to study the effects of heat on joints in structures which are made of two different materials.
Dr. Judy Wood will be talking about 9/11.
