Controversial Austrian artist Gottfried Helnwein , exhibits huge satanic nazi portrates on the superstructures of Kilkenny Castle , on the front of a theatre and on the buildings in Kilkenny city.Several of the images were damaged when offended persons threw paint upon one and set fire to another . Several Kilkenny council workmen also initially refused to work on the installation of the imagery on the buildings.
Gottfried Helnwein has been a controversial "artist" for many years and is either infatuated by everything nazi or is simply a nazi sympathiser and lover.
