By strange coincidence I was at what is reputed to be Merlins grave yesterday. No really.

However before I go any further a little local history is called for.

I live in a small country town called Marlborough in Wiltshire. I moved here about a month ago because, in contrast to the rest of England, it had a wonderful "vibe". Apart from being idylic in appearance something in the psychic/etheric bachground seemed charged with positive energies. It's something that the ancient Britons recognised too.

The name Marlborough is derived from 'Maerl's Barrow' or, to put it in contemporary language, 'Merlin's Burrow.' It is said that King Arthur's magical assistant was buried here although I suspect that is literally just an old legend. But the fact is that a so-called Merlin's Mound exists close to where I live. It is a twin site to nearby Silbury Hill which was used by the ancient druids. Moreover a dowser tells me that this area is at the epicentre of a great web of ley lines, which maybe why it also happens to be the centre of a lot of crop circle activity.

Anyway I went to Merlin's Mound yesterday and all I can say is...WOOOOOWWWWW.

In the 17th century the previous landowners had tried to landscape the earthen mound. But they too had fallen for its magic; apart from planting trees on the mound they'd also built a little shrine. A grotto, the walls of which are encrusted with sea shells, to the ancient greek god neptune.

Anyway I went to Merlin's Mound, right to the very top, and practised some Tai Chi and Chi Kung, in the shadows of beautiful elm and cedar trees. And then I left infused with subtle energies: like... WOOOOOOWWW!!

Sometimes, despite all the horrors in this world, it's good to be alive and I thank God for that.
