DESPOTISM & THE GLOBAL CLASSROOM

"Some of my readers ... may be convinced that it is for the interest of despotism to subvert our institutions, and are even persuaded that this grand enterprise has been actually undertaken, may be inclined to ask in what manner the despots of Europe effect, by means of Popish emissaries, anything in this country to counter-act the influence of our [republican] institutions! In what way can they operate here!?"

"Ignorance, an ignorance which it is for the interest of its leaders not to enlighten; for enlighten a man and he will think for himself, and have some self-respect; he will understand the laws and know his interest in obeying them. Keep him in ignorance, and he is the slave of the man who will flatter his passions and appetites, or awe him by superstitious fears."

So said Samuel F.B. Morse, writing as "Brutus" in the New York Observer, in the years 1834 and '35. Those who don't know their true American history -- which cannot be learned inside the public schools of today, as operated by the monopoly known as the National Education Association, with its bootlicking confederates at the Department of Education -- will not know that rival gangs of Irish immigrants repeatedly disrupted the construction of the Baltimore & Washington Railroad early in 1834. Both sets of rioters were composed of Irish Catholics, and their riotous disturbances related as much to old grievances imported from their towns and villages in Ireland, as to the particulars of which group was to obtain paid work. From New England to New Orleans, Irish immigrants to the United States created their own new forms of social interaction, brought in their own priests, and scuffled continuously with each other. They also used every tactic, both legal and illegal, to block out and expell free black men from the labor markets that they coveted.

Neither group, in the late 1820's or early 1830's, had any substantial capital to employ, but the Irish had the advantage of being used to conspiring amongst themselves to survive. The free black of the Jacksonian era were not all of one faith, nor were they white-skinned. Both groups were despised by mainstream Protestants, the men and women who owned property in those days, but in some middle-Atlantic State jurisdictions it was easier for white Irishmen to obtain the voting franchise than it was for free blacks to get the vote. Oftentimes both groups were locked out of participation, even though it was a "democratic" time.

Where in those times, when Morse -- the great American painter and the inventor of the telegraph -- established that the Roman Catholic Church was the only truly international body and force, today we have the multi-tentacled United Nations. It has become, by far, the most 'Europeanized' institution on the planet. The U.N. backs a form of parliamentary democracy which is not just different from the ideals and concepts of a free republic, it is actually poisonous to the principles that makes any form of a Republic free! The first thing eroded by parliamentary democracy is the truthful evaluation of its own methods of governance -- just examine this passage taken from the recent posting by Puzzle Pieces, on UNESCO and the National Education Association:

<< "Education for All" is a reference to the UNESCO-sponsored "World Conference on Education for All," held in Thailand in 1990 .... The purpose is to spend more government resources on education and expand governmental policy over educational matters. A "U.S. Campaign for Education for All" was established to carry this forward in the U.S. The National Education Association (NEA), the liberal teachers' union [the educational monopoly interwoven with the Democratic Pary], promotes the concept through a "Global Campaign for Education."

<< The group is on record in favor of "age-appropriate ... materials on the establishment of peace and the understanding of nuclear proliferation" in the schools. It adds, "These materials should include activities dealing with peaceful resolution of conflict, the effects of nuclear weaponry, strategies for disarmament, and methods to achieve peace." >>

Nearly thirty years of fuzzy-minded liberalism has been at work in the "peaceful resolution of conflict" in Palestine and Israel. Precisely how much peace has been established there? Secondly, dictators in foreign countries are not interested in what American teen-agers think of nuclear proliferation. They are interested in using our wide-open system, including "global free trade," and transparent borders, to obtain the money and the materiel they need to build their nuclear weapons. Forty years of blather about disarmament has created a considerable market for Ph.D candidates and failed politicians to shop their intellectual wares -- and virtually no real disarmament.

Why, then, did the NEA support the Clinton Administration for each and every year of its existence, if our "interdependence" with the people of Iraq or Libya was important to them? They sat silently and watched as the British-American sanctions on Iraq reduced its people to penury while failing to starve the war machine of Saddam Hussein and his Baath Socialist Party. This is but one more of the giant lies told by the NEA.

<< The Association believes in the ideals of peace, freedom, and human dignity based upon respect for the individual and cultural diversity. >>

Let's not forget the "diversity" of female genital mutilation as practiced in so many sub-Saharan cultures of Africa, whether Muslim, Christian or paganistic. That's a value worth fighting for, isn't it? Or are we not quite that "diverse?"

<< The Association urges all nations to develop treaties and disarmament agreements that reduce the possibility of war, provide for the peaceful resolution of conflicts, and guarantee the rights of nations to coexist within safe and secure borders. >>

No doubt the people of Belgium and Holland well remember all those vaunted international guarantees and the various treaties which "protected" them as the Imperial German Army and then the Wehrmacht knocked their towns and villages to pieces, in the last century. Nothing is more fraudulent than these "treaties."

<< The Association also believes that such treaties and agreements should prevent the placement of weapons in outer space. The Association further believes that the United Nations (UN) furthers world peace and promotes the rights of all people by preventing war, racism, and genocide. >>

The people of Rwanda had the right to be murdered en masse, while the United Nations and Kofi Anan watched; the people of Cyprus have had the right to live on a divided island, in fear of each other's ethnicity, for nearly two full generations; the people of Korea -- once divided by the United Nations -- have never yet been united and the civil war which the communists instigated has never yet been resolved! Fifty years later and nothing that the United Nations has ever attempted has had a positive resolution.

<< The Association believes that Education International contributes to peace and international relations by promoting dialogue among the world's education employees. >>

In other words, the failed systems of the past two generations should be continuously propagated at the expense of the American people, regardless of whether they want them or not.

<< The Association supports the U.S. Institute of Peace, which provides publications, information, programs, training, and research data in developing peacemaking and conflict resolution skills. >>

Yes, weren't they an important part of the "resolution" of the Los Angeles riots in 1992, and haven't they been tremendously helpful in neutralizing the long-standing feud between The Bloods and The Crips, the two interstate drug-dealing gangs?

"At the moment I am writing," said Samuel F.B. Morse in 1834, "are not monks and priests leaders on the field of battle in Spain, in Portugal? Is not the Pope encouraging the troops ... and exciting the priests and people to arms in a civil contest?

"Has Popery abandoned its ever-busy meddling in the politics of countries where it obtains a foothold? Do not Catholics of the present day use the bonds of religious union to effect political objects in other countries?"

The United Nations has as its object not the support of nations within 'secure' borders, but the subjection of the people of nations to its own will-of-the-wisp demands and determinations. The basis of a free and democratic republican form of government is the theory that all men and women have inalienable rights, which government may never remove or extinguish, no matter how much they may abuse them (or misuse their own powers). The U.N. is based on the idea that human rights are handed down to the masses by the elites, whether family aristocracies or whether created by civil service 'fiats.' Thus, the source of all rights and the source of all benevolence lies with them, the scions of the global government. Therefore, whenever those rights become inconvenient, or too difficult to tolerate, they may be revoked.

The similarities between this kind of top-down autocracy and the benevolent dictatorship of the Catholic Church are truly, truly remarkable. The Church which once opposed democracy was never loathe to use its powers when blocs of voters could be mobilized on is behalf. Note this comment by Morse, in Chapter Three of his book Foreign Conspiracy --

"In Charleston, South Carolina, the Roman Catholic Bishop of England is said to have boasted of the number of votes he could control at an election." Morse included numerous other examples of political campaigns conducted by Roman Catholic churchmen, both successful and unsuccessful, in the Jacksonian era.

"They will be deeply impressed with the truth, that Popery is a political as well as a religious system" warned Morse, speaking to his fellow Protestants of these dangers in the most severe terms imaginable. Here at the beginning of a new century and a new millenium, we must recognize that this truth has been 'reversed,' rather like the image on a photographic negative.
The United Nations is a political organization which has been developing a hidden 'religious agenda,' one which has yet to be deployed in public but which is surely poisonous to the freedom of this free and democratic Republic. No other form of government ever known, thus far, has ever created the kind of physical prosperity and abundance which we have in these United States, while also protecting the most rights for the largest number of people.

Yes, it is still a very imperfect system, but it is clear that further applications of 'pure democracy' are not the tonic necessary for reconfiguring the republic for the new century. Principles of republican virtue require acknowledging the rights of Catholics to build their own schools, churches, and so on -- and to host their own candidates -- but when the men or women so elected betray their solemn oaths to support this republic, then all freemen and all freewomen are required to oppose them, to reject any such treachery, to denounce perfidy when they see it.

That is neither easy work nor pleasant work. But it is the kind of work which must be done to secure the liberties of all -- Jewish, Christian, Muslim, Buddhist, or Wiccan. All must be respected up to and until they become enemies of the republic.
