Ms. Lentz was the receptionist at the embassy .. her body has never been found.

By the way, the same agent took lead roles in the FOSTER DEATH, THE MARY CATRIN MAHONEY WHITE HOUSE INTERN MURDERS at Starbucks.

The 2 confessions he has presented are dubious. One from Carl Derek Cooper the alleged gunman in the Starbuck murders, who has recanted, and the confession of Mir Amal Kansi the shooter of
C.I.A. personell at their hq in Virginia is a forgery. Garrett signed it.

August 6, 2001 -- WASHINGTON - The FBI agent now in charge of the Chandra Levy probe solved a high-profile, 5-year murder-missing-person case on the day the Bureau of Prisons intern was last seen, law-enforcement sources told The Post.

Bradley Garrett, the erudite head of the FBI's Cold Case Squad, who packs a 10 mm semiautomatic under his Armani and Versace suits and has been seen retracing the steps of D.C. detectives in the Levy case this past week, put former Navy Lt. Jay Lentz, 42, in handcuffs April 30, the day Levy was seen canceling her membership at a downtown Washington health club.

Lentz's arrest and indictment for kidnapping brought an emotional end to the baffling April 1996 disappearance of Lentz's ex-wife, Doris, of Arlington, Va., who was a receptionist for James Sasser, a former Tennessee senator and U.S. ambassador to China.

Her body has never been found.

"The last five years have been pure bloody hell just living with my daughter's disappearance and with all the suspense of not knowing what happened to her," the missing woman's mother, Bernice Butt, told The Post in a telephone interview from her home in Millington, Tenn.

Doris Lentz, who had been embroiled in an ugly divorce and custody dispute, was last seen as she set off on a 20-mile drive to her ex-husband's house in Fort Washington, Md., to pick up their 4-year-old daughter, Julia.

A few days later, her 1994 Toyota Celica was discovered in a high-crime area of southeast Washington. Her car keys, cash and credit cards were still in the car and there were bloodstains.

The atmosphere surrounding the case in the initial months was eerily similar to that of the Levy saga.

Police searched wooded areas with cadaver dogs, neighbors organized vigils and passed out leaflets with Doris Lentz's picture. The media followed the case for a while and then moved on.

Police focused on Jay Lentz because of charges in the divorce case of spousal abuse and the fact that he owed his 31-year-old ex a lot of back alimony.

Lentz told authorities he never saw her the day she disappeared.

Garrett's painstaking work on the Lentz case eventually led to Jay Lentz's indictment on kidnapping charges in April.
