Puzzle et al,
I don't believe in such a thing as coincidence, but Syzygy is back up and running. The second post below is from this morning. And then find a link to Red Puma, operated in Europe, which almost never shuts down. The August 6 quakes are listed (up to now). And finally an Aussie space weather site. There are other ways to get information.

Just an FYI for me roomies, in case you were as curious as I was as to what happened with the boards today; what a frustrating "post" day hahaha. Ah well, lets stand back and be thankful for all those carefree days when everything runs seamlessly in here!!!!
(p.s. my fav part is the FASTER part heehee)
REPOST OF MESSAGE 262 ON SYZYGY TECH BOARD FROM WEBMASTER::::
[Emarv,
Thanks for the note.
Our East Coast Server is currently down but two techs are working on it, as they're uprgrading us to a faster service. I hope it is up soon, as I have some
work to do there too.
Hoping we'll be back up soon, Will]

From: Frank Condon,
Subject: Magnetic Field Disturbances
URL: Final Warning
Hello all:
It's been long known that some major earthquakes are preceeded by magnetic field changes to the point where a magnet may no longer work as intended by the manufacturer.
I now quote from the text: Hobbs, Earthquakes (1907).
-------------------------
It has long been known that magnetic needles have been often disturbed during the passage of earthquake shocks. Shortly before the earthquakes at Lisbon in 1755 in many physical laboratories scattered throughout Europe, the armatures suddenly dropped from horseshoe magnets.... While it is found that
the magnetographs respond to earthquakes at those stations only where gravity is most abnormal!
--------------------------------
Now, this most important information just arrived via telephone from a reliable source.
Apparently two local drivers for a pizza delivery service based out of Yucaipa have reported that earlier this evening the magnetic delivery signs that sit on top of the roof of their vehicles have fallen off at two separate locations near there. One was reported as being within a half mile of the San Andreas fault zone where it intersects the Crafton Hills fault( shown on the map at the far right with a magnetic high). The other location where this was observed is on the I-10 near Cherry Valley and that is very close to right in between the Banning and San Andreas faults. What I believe is going on here is the recent seismic activity in the San Bernardino Mountains at Big Bear Lake and near the Cajon Pass has transfered stress towards the Mill Creek fault which is a branch of the San Andreas fault. The banning fault zone is the next major fault towards the south and is directly between the SAFZ and the SJFZ (squeeze play). So, I'll say this is the most likely zone of failure for the near future if the indications are correct. Actually, this is what I've been saying now for many weeks since the first M3+ earthquake
on the Glen Helen fault last May:
Magnitude : 3.9 Ml
Time : 14 May 2001 10:13:30 AM PDT
: 14 May 2001 17:13:30 UTC
Coordinates : 34 deg. 13.58 min. N, 117 deg. 26.39 min. W
Depth : 4.2 miles ( 6.8 km)
Quality : Excellent
Event ID : 9652545
Location : 2 mi. W of Devore, CA
: 12 mi. NW of San Bernardino, CA
: 13 mi. NNW of SLOVER (quarry)
Immediatley after that I observed a crustal stress transfer towards the Mill Creek fault and that's right before the next one of the series:
Magnitude : 3.8 Ml
Time : 23 May 2001 12:10:34 PM PDT
: 23 May 2001 19:10:34 UTC
Coordinates : 34 deg. 1.20 min. N, 116 deg. 45.31 min. W
Depth : 8.8 miles ( 14.1 km)
Quality : Excellent
Event ID : 9655209
Location : 7 mi. SSE of Mt. San Gorgonio, CA
: 19 mi. NW of Palm Springs, CA
: 20 mi. ESE of CFT (quarry)
which sort of confirmed my initial suspicions about the stress being transfered to that point via the San Andreas fault as the conveyance mechanism. Shortly after that I observed increased ULF and magnetic field anomalies coming from both the Banning and San Jacinto fault zones. So far, the Banning has not showed any renewed seismicity and I feel that this is a good indication that it is holding plenty of potential to create a major earthquake along both of them.
The latest event was this one most recently that was on a thrust fault local to or directly under the shear zone for the San Andreas fault:
Magnitude : 3.8 Ml
Time : 19 Jul 2001 01:42:36 PM PDT
: 19 Jul 2001 20:42:36 UTC
Coordinates : 34 deg. 16.04 min. N, 117 deg. 27.68 min. W
Depth : 5.1 miles ( 8.2 km)
Quality : Excellent
Event ID : 10972299
Location : 5 mi. NW of Devore, CA
: 15 mi. NW of San Bernardino, CA
: 16 mi. NNW of SLOVER (quarry)
Therefore, it would be very wise for you to have your earthquake preparations and supplies at the ready over the next several days or weeks if you're anywhere in the Inland Empire including Big Bear Lake, Banning, Cabazon, Hemet, Idyllwild, Anza, Riverside, Beaumont and Palm Springs, CA.
