There's one affair Congressman Condit apparently did not have.

In our second exclusive on the Levy story Thursday night, 9 Eyewitness News reporter Gary Reals has learned that investigators have now determined the story of a California minister is bogus.
The story of Jennifer Taylor, or at least that of her father, created a sensation one week ago. One problem: it wasn't true.

Page one, Washington Post headline July 12th: Minister says Daughter, at 18, Had An Affair With Condit.

Minister Otis Thomas says it took place several years ago and lasted about 2 years.

In response to the Post story, the same day, Thomas' daughter Jennifer posted a hand-written note on her door saying: I never met that Congressman.

And tonight we've learned Otis Thomas has admitted to investigators in California that his claims were a fabrication.

Claims that his daughter was scared to talk to the FBI and has gone into hiding.

Another part of his story remains unclear in which he said he discussed his daughters affair with Susan Levy and that upon learning it, Ms. Levy called Chandra, but Chandra told her to mind her own business, that she was a grown woman , who could deal with it.

According to our sources, it remains unclear and under investigation: what Thomas's motive was. And what role, if any, the Levy's had in getting his story published in the Washington Post.
