On July 25, 1990, the ambassador from the United States, an anonymous government bureaucrat named April Glaspe, met with Iraqi leader, Saddam Hussein.

The transcripts of the notes of her meeting have never been released, but Sources to the Rumor Mill have stated that she carried a message from President George Bush to Saddam Hussein.

American intelligence had told President Bush that Hussein was getting ready to take back Kuwait. Kuwait had been part of Iraq until the British came in and carved up the Middle East so they could gain power in that area.

When Ambassor Glaspie met with Hussein she told him that "the United States would look the other way if he decided to invade Kuwait."

This is the official spin from government disinformation agents. What she really told him was, "there will be a war to unite the New World Order --- but you will stay in power and get even richer."

We are now facing the prospect of a war with China. China controlled Taiwan, and island formally known as Formosa, until the late forties. For 50 years Taiwan has been its own country. But now Communist China says it must join again with the mainland.

Many of the people who live on Taiwan still remember the family members they lost in the fight against Mao. Taiwanese people live a life that is as free and full as the lives Americans live. If China attacks Taiwan, will the Taiwanese fight for their freedom? How many will die? How much or Taiwan will be reduced to rubble? What effect will this have on the Internet economy which is keeping the economy of the United States from going in the toilet?

When Admiral Pruher, the American ambassador to China, meets with the Chinese ruling caste, what secret message will he carry from the United States?

Will he tell the Chinese that they have the go ahead to invade Taiwan, just as long as they don't destroy the computer chip factories?

Or does our government want a war? Will the Chinese be told if they invade, it means war.

Whatever the answer will be --- we know it will be bad for the Taiwanese.

I suggest that all Taiwanese who have relatives outside the country should start making plans for extended visits.

FEB 21, 2000 China 'ready to fight US over Taiwan'

BERLIN -- China is ready to engage in war and even nuclear conflict with the United States should fighting break out over Taiwan, Der Spiegel magazine reports on the basis of a supposedly-secret Chinese file.

"Document No. 65", allegedly produced by the military sub-committee of the Chinese Community Party's central committee, discussed the possible course of a war over the disputed island claimed by China.

"We would have to make a military intervention as early as possible, before the American troops are fully operational," according to the document cited by the German magazine.

Faced with US bombardment of key sites and military installations, the document stressed that China has roughly the same level of conventional forces and would benefit from a fight close to its own territory.

While arguing that the US would have little interest in starting a nuclear war over the island, the file said that Beijing would be ready to turn to its nuclear arsenal should circumstances demand.

"We are ready to defend every square centimetre of our country," said the document.

Dated August last year, the analysis would appear to have been drafted during a low point in relations between Beijing and Taipei caused by Taiwanese President Lee Teng-hui's insistence that his country should enjoy "state-to-state" ties with China.

China considers Taiwan a breakaway province and has repeatedly warned that it would use force if necessary to ensure its return to the mainland. -- AFP
