I first saw Smigel's cartoons on SNL way back when "RealAudio" as a format was new, a long time ago. Then he called it "Fun With RealAudio" because I guess he got the idea from RealAudio, using bits and pieces of audio from the news with cartoon characters.
All I can say is that his stuff is usually hilarious.
Something weird happened when I posted that. Norm MacDonald has always been one of my all time favorite funny people. So I thought I'd throw in his picture at the end. Then I thought, since I was mad when they fired him, I'll make the Norm line in a bigger font.
Ha ha, it suddenly looked visually like prank played on NBC by Smigel and MacDonald. Maybe they are friends, I thought. The thing is, it's just the kind of amazing thing that MacDonald might actually do. Maybe saying nothing about it. Seems to me like one of the greatest tricks ever played.
Anyway Norm MacDonald has always had a kind of permanent grin, as if he were always just on the verge of laughing.
But that's just my fantasy, how this skit/song ever was concocted is a story we would like to hear.
