Dear J:
The mind of God is far beyond our own.
Taking the Bible as the Word of God is not really stupidity. It really is a love letter from God detailing the creation of earth to its consummation.
IF it is the Word of God, then events predicted in it will come to pass, just as he says.
Adam and Eve were created in full communication with the Divine, until that is, they sinned and followed Satan. That was the test. They failed and we subsequently have a sin nature.
We may not like that assessment. But let’s say that is true. The history of the earth from that point on is bloody.
According to the Bible there are 2 forces on this earth that are inimical to one another: God and Satan, light and dark, love and hate. They are perpetually at war until the consummation.
God wants us to see the results of our fallen nature. Our fallen nature has given rise to enormous lies, death and destruction, the history of our planet. In Isaiah, God called forth Cyrus’ name hundreds of years before he was born. Cyrus was subsequently born and delivered the Jews as God said he would. Coincidental?
IF the Bible is the Word of God, God wants us to see that we need a Redeemer. He promised that Redeemer in Genesis. In the fullness of time, he sent that Redeemer. It is our freewill choice to accept or reject that Redeemer.
As the Bible states, that Redeemer, Jesus Christ will come again in power to take back the title deed to the earth and stop the blood-shed, again, at the timetable HE sets, not us. He details out in advance events that will occur prior so we can determine whether or not this book is real.
The Bible is one-third prophecy. It states that not ONE of its predictions will fail. It very specifically details out the end-time events in which we could be living.
It specifically talks about the “last generation”. We may or may not be that last generation. If so, we will see the destruction of one fourth of the population of the earth in the 4th Seal, the killing of many Christians in the 5th Seal, the darkening of the sun and earth in the Sixth Seal, the rise of Antichrist and the mandatory Mark, among other things.
Should we see these things come to pass, we can be sure the Bible IS the Word of God.
