My sense: Ahmadinejad knows a lot more than he's saying. :) His actions and statements during the past year have come as 'surprising moves'. He's shown no sign of _reacting_ to anything; rather, his suprise moves stir reaction, or so it appears.
Further, it feels to me that he knows he has the approval of Someone Somewhere (Faction 2?), as he makes these moves.
...and most other articles about Ahmadinejad paint him in an unflattering, even dangerous light - leading to the question, "Why do they feel it so important to paint him this way? What's being kept in balance, or kept hidden, by this broad brushstroke of the press?"
Many have supposed all this is leading to a war against Iran - but, somehow, I don't think that will be happening. :) It feels to me like Ahmadinejad is "holding more cards than he's showing" or that the Media has let us know about.
