I remember the Elder Bush being interviewed by Diane Sawyer during the early to mid-1990's and he said something similar to this: If the American people knew everything that has been done in their name, they would hang us from the lamp posts. I don't know if that is an exact quote, but it was very similar to that. And, of course, whenever Daddy Bush says things like that, he only adds fuel to the fire which he claims to be against. :-) If someone has a video of that quote, can you somehow post it to YouTube or send it to someone who can?
