Israel's Bold Faced Lies Become Media Truths for Americans
There are four very conspicuous and dangerous bold-faced Zionist (Israeli) lies about the ongoing Israeli-American genocidal campaign being waged in Lebanon and the occupied Palestinian territories.
Because these lies are repeated without question by the Zionist-controlled mainstream media in the United States, it is urgent to point out the falseness of these first four Zionist lies which are blindly accepted as truth by many Americans.
BOLD-FACED ISRAELI LIE No. 1: Hezbollah had fired missiles from the location where 60 Lebanese civilians were massacred as they slept in a basement where they had sought shelter in Cana of Galilee (Qana, Lebanon).
The Plain Truth: "There were no rocket launches from Qana on the day of the strike," Ha'aretz (Israel) reported today:
"As the Israel Air Force continues to investigate the air strike, questions have been raised over military accounts of the incident.
"It now appears that the military had no information on rockets launched from the site of the building, or the presence of Hezbollah men at the time.
"The Israel Defense Forces had said after the deadly air-strike that many rockets had been launched from Qana. However, it changed its version on Monday.
"The site was included in an IAF plan to strike at several buildings in proximity to a previous launching site. Similar strikes were carried out in the past. However, there were no rocket launches from Qana on the day of the strike."

BOLD-FACED ISRAELI LIE No. 2: "We want it to be clear it was not a deliberate attack because Israel would never target a UN force. It is not part of our policies; it is not part of our values."
- Israel's Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni,
The Plain Truth: Livni's statement is a nothing but an Israeli bold-faced lie. Israel has often targeted UN bases, apart from the recent massacre the most egregious Israeli atrocity committed against a UN base occurred on April 18, 1996, during the Israeli "Grapes of Wrath" aggression against Lebanon, when prime minister Shimon Peres (now vice premier) ordered the precision-guided artillery shelling of the FIJIBATT UN base at Qana (Cana) in which hundreds of Lebanese had sought shelter. More than 106 Lebanese civilians, most of them children, were killed in this deliberate attack on a UN base.
From Robert Fisk's April 19, 1996 article "Massacre in Sanctuary" in The Independent (UK):
Qana, southern Lebanon - It was a massacre. Not since Sabra and Chatila had I seen the innocent slaughtered like this. The Lebanese refugee women and children and men lay in heaps, their hands or arms or legs missing, beheaded or disemboweled. There were well over a hundred of them. A baby lay without a head. The Israeli shells had scythed through them as they lay in the United Nations shelter, believing that they were safe under the world's protection. Like the Muslims of Srebrenica, the Muslims of Qana were wrong.
In front of a burning building of the UN's Fijian battalion headquarters, a girl held a corpse in her arms, the body of a grey- haired man whose eyes were staring at her, and she rocked the corpse back and forth in her arms, keening and weeping and crying the same words over and over: "My father, my father." A Fijian UN soldier stood amid a sea of bodies and, without saying a word, held aloft the body of a headless child.
"The Israelis have just told us they'll stop shelling the area", a UN soldier said, shaking with anger. "Are we supposed to thank them?" In the remains of a burning building - the conference room of the Fijian UN headquarters - a pile of corpses was burning. The roof had crashed in flames onto their bodies, cremating them in front of my eyes. When I walked towards them, I slipped on a human hand...
Israel's slaughter of civilians in this terrible 10-day offensive - 206 by last night - has been so cavalier, so ferocious, that not a Lebanese will forgive this massacre. There had been the ambulance attacked on Saturday, the sisters killed in Yohmor the day before, the 2-year-old girl decapitated by an Israeli missile four days ago. And earlier yesterday, the Israelis had slaughtered a family of 12 - the youngest was a four- day-old baby - when Israeli helicopter pilots fired missiles into their home.

BOLD-FACED ISRAELI LIE No. 3: Israel does not target civilians or ambulances.
The Plain Truth: The fact that nearly 1,000 Lebanese civilians have been killed by the current Israeli onslaught in Lebanon, and some 20,000 were killed in Israel's 1982 invasion of Lebanon should suffice to expose this lie, but for more on this subject see, Jonathan Cook's article "Targeting Civilians As Deliberate Strategy: Israel’s Indiscriminate Onslaughts."

Targeting Ambulances: That Israel targets ambulances is obvious from the news reports that show that Israeli missiles struck Lebanese ambulances piercing the ambulance exactly in the center of the red cross that is painted on the roof of the ambulance. For more on this subject see Robert Fisk's article, "Israeli missiles had clearly pierced the very centre of the red cross on the roof of each ambulance."
Fisk wrote: "And how come - since this now obsesses the humanitarian organisations working in Lebanon - that the Israelis bombed two ambulances in Qana, killing two of the wounded inside and wounding the third civilian for the second time in a day. All the crews were injured - one with a piece of shrapnel in his neck - but what worried the Lebanese Red Cross was that the Israeli missiles had clearly pierced the very centre of the red cross painted on the roof of each vehicle. Did the pilots use the cross as their aiming point?"
NB – This is the kind of pin-point accuracy of these air launched missiles. This is precisely how I believe that Israel killed Rafik Hariri. Except in the Hariri murder Israeli used a larger warhead with delayed fusing in order to cause a massive crater.

BOLD-FACED ISRAELI LIE No. 4: The two captured Israeli soldiers were kidnapped in Israel.
The Plain Truth: Hezbollah, branded a "terrorist" group by the Zionist controlled government and media in the United, was blamed for having sparked the crisis by having "kidnapped" two Israeli soldiers from Israeli territory on July 12.
The initial news reports, however, which have not been retracted or disproven, indicate that the two Israeli soldiers were not kidnapped at all. They were captured – inside Lebanon – after having crossed the border and entered the Lebanese village of Aitaa al-Chaab.
The fact that Israeli soldiers were captured inside Lebanon was initially reported by a number of leading international press services, including the German news agency (DPA), AP, AFP from France, and UPI Arabia, but was never mentioned by the Zionist-controlled mass media outlets in the U.S.
Here, for example, it one of the 10 Deutsche Presse Agentur's (DPA) articles on this matter from July 12, 2006:
Beirut (dpa) - The Lebanese Shiite Hezbollah movement announced Wednesday that its guerrillas have captured two Israeli soldiers in southern Lebanon.
"Implementing our promise to release the Arab prisoners in Israeli jails, our strugglers have captured at 9:05 am (0605 GMT) two Israeli soldiers in southern Lebanon," a statement by Hezbollah said.
"The two soldiers have already been moved to a safe place," it added.
Lebanese police said that the two soldiers were captured as they "infiltrated" into the town of Aitaa al-Chaab inside the Lebanese border.
Israeli aircraft were active in the air over southern Lebanon, police said, with jets bombing roads leading to the market town of Nabatiyeh, 60 kilometres south of Beirut.
Lebanese security sources told Deutsche Presse-Agentur dpa that the planes were bombarding roads which might be used by Hezbollah guerrillas.
"Tension is very high in the area ... We are expecting escalation by the Israelis," the sources said.
There was no immediate confirmation of the Hezbollah claims from any official Israeli source. An Israeli army spokeswoman however said there was "concern" over the fate of the two soldiers.
Photo: One of the grisly photos of the massacre inflicted on Lebanese civilians sheltering in the UN camp at Cana in April 1996. The Israeli army deliberately targeted the FIJIBATT UN camp knowing full well that hundreds of Lebanese refugees were sheltering there.
