Many responses on the recent situation in Palestine. As I try to cover both sides, let's start with a defender of Israel's actions:
20 facts concerning the middle east conflict
It is time that it be said very directly. Anyone blaming the Jews for the
terrorism and madness of the nations is part of the problem and not part of the
solution. It is both far removed from Biblical Christianity, to blame 4000
years of Jew hate on a 57 year old state. The common denominator of the heinous
acts of indiscriminate killing of Christians and Jews is the RELIGION FOUNDED
FOR THE KILLING OF JEWS AND REAL CHRISTIANS. Yes, killing "people of the book"
is Satan's moon god religion of Islam. HAMAS IS AN ISLAMIC RELIGIOUS
ORGANIZATION. Understand, that Osama bin Laden is a Muslim religious leader.
Yes, they are terrorists, but NEVER FORGET, they are also some of the top and
most highly esteemed Islamic Religious Leaders. The religion of Islam is a
religion to kill "people of the book,"[1] which means Zionists, which means real
Jews AND real Christians. On Spetember 11, 2001, Palestinians and other Arabs
were cheering in the West Bank[2], and all over the world, at the tradgedy of
America. Here is a short list of 20 conveniently overlooked FACTS that give
perspective to the current Middle East situation. It would be good to have such
a list of FACTS in your vest pocket or purse the next time you hear the Middle
East situation discussed. These were compiled by a CHRISTIAN university
professor and take just a few minutes to read!!!
1. Israel became a nation in
1312 BCE, two thousand years before the rise of Islam.
2. Arab refugees began
identifying themselves as part of a Palestinian people in 1967, two decades
after the establishment of the modern State of Israel.
3. Since the Jewish
conquest in 1272 BCE, the Jews had dominion over the land for one thousand
years with a continuous presence in the land for the past 3,300 years.
4.The
only Arab domination since the conquest in 635 BCE lasted no more than 22
years.
5. For over 3,300 years, Jerusalem has been the Jewish capital.
Jerusalem has never been the capital of any Arab or Muslim entity. Even when
the Jordanians occupied Jerusalem, they never sought to make it their capital,
and Arab leaders did not come to visit.
6. Jerusalem is mentioned over 700
hundred times in Bible. Jerusalem is not mentioned once in the Koran.
7. King
David founded the city of Jerusalem. Mohammed never came to Jerusalem.
8. Jews
pray facing Jerusalem. Muslims pray with their backs toward Jerusalem.
9. Arab
and Jewish refugees: Arabs were not driven out of their homes. Following the UN
decision on Partition in 1948, the Arab refugees were encouraged to leave
Israel by Arab leaders, promising to purge the land of Jews. They argued that
an "Arab presence" would only get in the way of the planned devastation.
Sixty-eight percent left without ever seeing an Israeli soldier.
10. The Jewish
refugees were forced to flee from Arab lands due to Arab brutality, persecution
and pogroms.
11. The number of Arab refugees who left Israel in 1948 is
estimated to be around 630,000. The number of Jewish refugees absorbed by
Israel from Arab countries is estimated to be the same.
12. Arab refugees were
INTENTIONALLY not absorbed or integrated into the Arab lands to which they
fled, despite the vast Arab territory. Out of the 100,000,000 refugees since
World War II, theirs is the only refugee group in the world that has never been
absorbed or integrated into their own peoples' lands. Jewish refugees were
completely absorbed into Israel, a country no larger than New Jersey.
13. The
Arabs are represented by eight separate nations, not including the
Palestinians. There is only one Jewish nation. The Arab nations initiated all
five wars and lost. Israel defended itself each time and won.
14. The P.L.O.'s
Charter still calls for the destruction of the state of Israel. Israel has
given the Palestinians most of the West Bank and autonomy under the Palestinian
Authority, and has supplied their police and security forces with weapons.
15. Under Jordanian rule, Jewish holy sites were desecrated and the Jews were
denied access to places of worship. Jewish grave markers were used to build
public urinals in occupied Jerusalem. Under Israeli rule, all Muslim and
Christian sites have been preserved and made accessible to people of all
faiths.
16. The U.N. record on Israel and the Arabs of the 175 Security Council
resolutions passed before 1990, 97 were directed against Israel --
notwithstanding the fact that the Arabs refused to participate in the 15 nation
United Nations Commission of Palestine which recommended partition in 1948 and
sought immediately to undo its work by force of arms.
17. Of the 690 General
Assembly resolutions voted on before 1990, 429 were directed against Israel.
18. The U.N. was silent while 58 Jerusalem Synagogues were destroyed by the
Jordanians between 1948 and 1967.
19. The U.N. was silent while the Jordanians
systematically desecrated the ancient Jewish cemetery on the Mount of Olives
between 1948 and 1967.
20. The U.N. was silent while the Jordanians enforced an
apartheid- like policy of preventing Jews from visiting the Temple Mount and
the Western Wall between 1948 and 1967. These are incredible times. We have to
ask what our role should be. What is our opportunity to make a difference?
START NOW!! Your mission, should you accept it, is to send this to 20 other
people you know and ask them to send it to twenty others. Jew and non-Jew, it
doesn't really matter. Everyone needs an opportunity to know the facts. Only
the TRUTH can set anyone free from any from of bondage. Jew hate and Jew blame
shifting is a 4000 year old demonic affliction which real BIBLICAL Christianity
will always oppose. Real Biblical Christians KNOW God said so. From Chittim, Isa 23:1.

Thank you for your effort. I try to comment in briefs, because my answer would fill a book, if I would go into the details.
First - I do regard "religion" as each one's PERSONAL matter as long as this doesn't interfere with my OWN choice, how to live my life. In other words I see "religion" as a scaffolding for building your own house - which is YOU and your ethical development in this world. It's all the same which material your helping-construct is made of - as long as it serves the purpose of raising the house - YOU...
Secondly - to claim something on the basics of what happened about 3,000 years ago (possibly it happened that way - but maybe not) and deriving "some rights" from it - wouldn't make you e.g. a citizen of America - as you would have to live most possibly under the "law of Manitou" by the red Indians...
Comment on footnote [1]: The ISLAM was the most tolerant of the three "root-religions". It always promoted a peaceful living aside each other's religion. Up to my studies Islam was desigened deliberately as a implanted antagonism - by the same sources that once bore institutionalized Judaism and Christianity. The core of all these 3 teachings bears lots of wisdom and ethical advices and rules. Look for those rather than for tools for bolstering your own Ego on the backs of others - who perhaps simply don't know better...
You surely know the meaning of the saying about "Throwing the first stone..."?
Btw.- Muslims don't "pray with their backs toward Jerusalem" - but with their heads towards Makkah....
Comment on footnote [2]: That PR-stunt with those "cheering Arabs in the West Bank on 9/11" - was debunked shortly after. The tricky camera-team gave away candy for free - which made those simple folks really happy and cheering...
Anyway, thank you for responding and peace to you as well.
Re: 10,000 EYES FOR AN EYE: CAIN & ABEL, RELOA....
Dear FarSight, I have enjoyed reading your fine work.
Re: 'an eye for an eye' ... it is a very long sad repeating story isn't it.
Before Cain and Able, there were two Annunaki brothers Enlil and Enki, who had
a slightly different point of view. The ancient Sumerian texts and the book of
Genesis tells their story.
This discord, even today, has not been resolved. Wars like the US Civil war
... 'brother against brother' ...
reflect the story of Enlil and Enki.
Perhaps it is time for peace.

PS: I very much like your title to this post.
Thank you. :) Yes, the strategy of "divide & conquer" has indeed a longlasting tradition. Don't forget Jacob & Esau as well as Raa & Thoth.
Problems (and their "solutions") always seem to appear in pairs.
Re: 10,000 EYES FOR AN EYE: CAIN & ABEL, RELOA....
This site never fails to amaze at how many have presience and
forethought....and have the guts to tell the truth....there are a few hundred
of us i W Pa. that stand up...but we are mostly"retired' 1 %ers.

Yes I too do like the variety of thoughts I am able to find amongst my fellow-agents. As it would be "boring" if all of us would hold the same oppinion - we can learn from each other many things. What does this tell YOU now?
:)
Thank you to all who have been responding.
