As today US Prezi Bush is arriving in Vienna for talks with top European Union officials, three potential bomb threats were encounterd by local police in the morning around 7:30 a.m., reported to local police by alerted citizens.

Bomb squads used a remote-control robot to blow up a taped old suitcase and another suspicious package - and found - nothing. A third suitcase, reported near the Vienna Intercontinental Hotel, where the US Prezi will be staying for the night, was opened without blowing it up firsthand. It contained merely cables and some tin cans...

One of those suspicious packages had been found taped to an electricity junction box and had wires and an antenna poking out of it, while another was only containing wires, old batteries and cans, as officials stated.

A confessing letter had been delivered also - but no further official comment was given on it - who might have been signed it or what it contained.
Austria, which holds the EU's rotating presidency till end of June, is deploying some 3,000 police officers in the capital, including 1,000 who will focus on anti-Bush demonstrations.
Cindy Sheehan, who will join one of the demonstrations, labeled "Bush go Home", has been invited to Vienna by the leader of the opposition Socialist party Alfred Gusenbauer, who has been attending this year's Bilderberg Meeting in Ottawa...
