The Tao Te Ching is organized in very simple ways, numbered and codified beautifully, now we look at one short passage, and see how this could be used for the situations we are facing:
59. Restraint
Manage a great nation as you would cook a delicate fish.
To govern men in accord with nature
It is best to be restrained;
Restraint makes agreement easy to attain,
And easy agreement builds harmonious relationships;
With sufficient harmony no resistance will arise;
When no resistance arises, then you possess the heart of the nation,
And when you possess the nation's heart, your influence will long endure:
Deeply rooted and firmly established.
This is the method of far sight and long life.
Here something anyone can use for the defense of the mind:

Keep your head clear.
Stay calm.
Watch
as everything happens around you.
Everything reverts
to its original state,
which was nothing.
And when something becomes nothing,
it gets right with Tao.
If you don't understand that,
you're going to screw up
somewhere down the line.
If you figure it out,
you'll always know what to do.
If you get right with Tao,
you won't be afraid to die,
because you know you will.
