When I read your post about the bizarre statement which came from the parents of Guido, an infrequently mentioned puzzle piece from the mysterious Natalie Holloway case came to mind.
When Joran van der Sloot was interviewed by Greta Van Susteren on Fox News in early March (2006), he said Natalie had told him that her mother is 'the daughter of Hitler's sister.'
Joran then said Natalie said, "I'm not kidding!"
Then, Joran said Natalie had also told one of her friends that her mom was the niece of Hitler.
This was recorded in a statement taken by the police.
When I heard this rather amazing comment from Joran, it got my attention. Natalie was not saying her mother was like Hitler which is how most people would say this 'if in jest.' Instead, she gave a very specific family connection ... "My mother is the daughter of Hitler's sister."
That seems very specific! This gave the statement a possible ring of truth. The statement about Natalie's mother being related to!

Then later, in another one of Greta's shows ... again, the point was mentioned that there was a rumor going around that Natalie's Mom was 'the niece of Hitler.' Greta suggested someone needed to check this out to see if there was any truth to the assertion. This was the last time I heard this statement about Natalie's mother.
As far as I know, this rumor was never confirmed or denied. If true, it does seem significant to the case, however. This could explain the statement from Guido's family ... "although some American media may think otherwise. There is no better breed, no new Aryan race."
Perhaps there is a hidden message being sent via ... the Natalie Holloway case.
There is another puzzle piece of possible significance in the Natalie Holloway case.
We have had discussions on RMN about 'Wizard of Oz' programming.
Well, just after Natalie disappeared (close to a year ago), there was an interesting report on CNN. They were giving a tour of Natalie's bedroom at home. The said Natalie loved the story 'The Wizard of Oz. They said she was so attached to this story that her entire bedroom was painted with a Wizard of Oz theme. On the walls of Natalie's room, they showed larger than life size drawings of the Wizard of Oz characters. Natalie Holloway's bedroom was a virtual 'Wizard of Oz.' This struck me as very bizarre indeed. This Wizard of Oz theme for Natalie was mentioned in detail 'only once' as far as I know.
A final puzzle piece, perhaps more trivial (or not), did also strike me as interesting.
One news report said Natalie collected close to 100 tubes of lipstick, and she kept them in a box in her room. The report said Natalie had these many tubes of lipstick in a 'very specific order.' Sometimes her friends would come over and look at the tubes of lipstick and then replace in the box 'out of order.' The report said Natalie would then very meticulously realign her lipsticks to 'their proper order' in the box. I know this detail seems very trivial, yet it it does suggest a certain personality profile which may be relevant.
All in all, the Natalie Holloway case may remain a mystery because of the many levels of power involved 'behind the scenes.' I do feel for Natalie's family ... and all they have been through. ~G~

This bizarre statement came from the parents of Guido Wever. He is the Aruban fellow who fled to Holland when he realized that he was about to be arrested in the Natalee Holloway case.
Please read this carefully... the statements that are made are so out there that I have to wonder what planet these people have been living on.
Here is the statement the family made:
STATEMENT:
“Not only as parents but also as human beings we are appalled that a young girl is missing for a long time. And we sincerely hope and pray despite all odds that she will come back alive.
We think that our country Aruba has made a tremendous effort so far to find her. In Aruba such cases are very very rare, contrary to other countries where such occurs daily. One should only watch the American television and all the television programs on past cases.
As parents, we are now confronted with the fact that our son is being held on the suspicion to have something to do with the case of the missing girl. We are appalled at this development. We cannot believe that he should have anything to do with the case.
This comes out of the blue for us. We are law-abiding people and have raised our son to respect the law and persons. Our son was constantly reminded of how to behave properly and to respect people.
We as parents have had some difficulties, like a divorce, but remained as very good friends. This was not only because of our son, but also because of the kind of people we are.
We do feel for the other families that are somehow connected with the tragedy and as we have said we hope and pray the girl will be found alive.
We now face the fact that our son has been arrested and we hope and pray everything will come out all right for him. In fact, we do not expect otherwise for he is a caring person and very much liked by all others.
Although a broken family, we are a family with good ties and relations. Parents and son have a good relationship and understanding. There exist no authoritarian or terrorized relationship between parents and son.
Nevertheless, justice should be done. However, justice — although legal systems and procedures may differ from country to country — is an international criterion and not the property or patent of any country.
We all pretend to live in a civilized society. Justice should not be carried by ethnocentrism and not be franchised or patented. We are all equal and we all have rights and obligations. We are all innocent until proven guilty. This counts also for our son.
Therefore, we request and urge everyone, especially the media, local and international, to respect us and our son as persons, and also our interests. We have professional legal system and we all should observe the law and human rights.
The media has certain rights to gather information to inform the public but not at the expense of any individual. As we said, we are all equal, no one is more equal than others, although some American media may think otherwise. There is no better breed, no new Aryan race.
We will not tolerate disrespect, any harassment of our son and us, stalking, abuse in anyway, name calling, mud throwing, slander, insults, invasion of our son’s and our privacy — we reject any type of sensationalism.
