Disasters coming hard on the heels of each other worldwide serves love's purposes well, as it is the change everyone has known has been coming. No-one is ignorant of this fact, but the love that has begun to be outpoured has gone unreported as per usual! Thousands are still feeling the love of new community following the wake of the tsunami last xmas let alone the thousands sitting on a strangers door from Hurricane Katrina. Love goes beyond the words. I witnessed my parents helping 20,000 refugees from 50 nations all by themselves, working around the clock seven days a week in Canada back in the early 70s from Uganda, and Chile, and Vietnam among many others. My dad could not speak their language, but they did communicate as best they could via the language of love.
It is nice to get linked to new communities that move beyond just money into friendship, comraderie, and old fashioned love language long lost and forgotten my many. It is just a process of remembering what we already are if we dusted away the cobwebs of self serving interests that capitalism has led us away from. If anything, there will be a tidal wave of awakening to this new understanding of love as we all learn to live more simply and more balanced in our outlook on life.
Respect and honour will be new concepts that do come forward, and a reaching across gaps of culture and misunderstanding. We are not at war with each other, as it simply marks the death of a system that is no longer sustainable beyond the killing fields thought necessary by those wielding the weapons of mass destruction kept under the wraps currently, of it being nature, which many of us know differently about. By the time it becomes open warfare, we best know who we are, and where we are going, so time is short, and preparation is seriously on us.
Love is the first and last lesson to learn, and am thankful that it is now being demonstrated through courageous acts of kindness. When my dad began helping the Ugandans, he told me he did not even have a hankerchief to give them, but miracles happened, and they knew it as well as myself! Many others will be happening while this is being written, and it is these things where people will begin to see that we indeed live in a magical time that will spring to life once we have truly discovered the fine nuances of love.
Embrace love, give till it hurts, be thankful if on the receiving end, and 'play it forward'! Action time is here, and use it to show the love you have within, as it is a test, and will greatly reduce the pain of future events if these lessons are learnt quickly. Push aside any differences, or family feuds etc. Life is so short, and change so unpredictable that we dont know if we will ever see a loved one again. I saw hundreds of kids separated from parents going to different countries through a refugee program, that turned around and called my own parents mum and dad, and am proud that they were to these new homeless kids. My hat is off to those now in the midst of loves action, as nothing is more powerful and strong and long lasting.
I too have been on the receiving end this week, and even though fiercely independant, have had no choice but to accept acts done in love, which otherwise I would have attempted myself if able. Many this week are in the same position, and understand the play well. Be prepared with love at all times in the coming days.
