Dear Friends
Last Monday my brother and I witnessed a dynamite hail storm that left quite some destruction in its wake. Statisticians say this type of event was never seen here in over a Century. But as I also immediately pointed out, it left behind a clean and good energy, and made some people I have since met think a little bit more than usually.
The many street talks I have had - ranging from a hero concierge "ordinary" guy with instant perception and handling ability to vacuous priests and to brainy scientists - all have shown to give me very involved views into what human perception is about.
We could summarize these viewppoints as the demoniacal world view of "the suffering must come because we told you so" on the one end of the spectrum, to the Noble Four Truths of The Buddha of "there is suffering so let us inquire about what this means", simplified, and all shades inbetween. Some were wondering how come this place was obliterated but the one next door stayed intact when equipped the same way, and so on. I guess you know what types of discussions such events seem to provoke...
Everyone of these thought schools forgot to check in with Krishnamurti and his "observer and observed" world view, or what Vortex Theory Russell Moon sees in the energy fields of humans and of planets and protons and other things... and everyone of these above schools of thoughts (Krishnamurti and Russell Moon excepted) look OUTSIDE for an answer, when as I have humbly pointed out a few times, we ARE the answer. Hence the answer is INSIDE.
I said while the car of my brother was driving and also being loudly hammered by hail stones of golf ball size that "This is probably a blessing" and I also said it was actually impressive if not even beautifuly to look at and to experience. He said with his own sense of humor: "Well it depends which side of the Blessing you are on..."
It now occurs to me we should inquire what a Blessing is about, or we could also ask who gives the Blessing, and whose Blessing is it anyway? Most people will invoke in terms of a Blessing the or an OUTSIDE force, usually GOD, or Cosmos, or random chance, or fatality, or whatever, maybe some will invoke some ETs, when we are the ET ;-)
Maybe it is not impossible that WE are the Blessing and it is ours to begin and to end with. Now some might misunderstand this as an "arrogant" attitude due to fullmoon sickness or read into it that I am saying we are God, which is not actually what I mean to say, but is it not possible that we can look at the word "Blessing" and its meaning in a new way?
A shaman friend summarized my quest on the interpretation of the Blessing and its meaning as a "SIGN" - as well as the snappy comment of my Buddha brother as to *THE SIGN* as being equal to "We Survived The Storm" (when actually we came within 50 or so yards of a powerful lightning impact) - in the following chronological order of the events.
Let me take you through the shamanic logic:
My brother arrived at my place an hour before the storm got underway on a bright blue sunny summer day, with the intent to have a couple of days of vacation, and bringing with him a set of weather measurement equipment I had at my old home some 15 years ago. In other words, he arrived right into the middle of an "earth change", and this is indeed a complex medicine sign as is. Multiple if not hyper-dimensionally complex to "read"...
Then came and went the storm, and we thought about it and about what we - each of us - perceived before, during, and after the storm, observing both the observer and the observed. The shaman capped off the analysis in succinct words at the end:
"You and your brother were together when the hit came, and that is all you ever need to remember about this. Thereby his future and your future have now been defined -- and shown to you."
(I might add I have seen my brother only very few times in the past 12 years. And therefore the chances that we meet an hour before an event last witnessed here only over a 110 years ago, well these chances were indeed somewhat "remote" -- even by precise probability calculus methods.)
So who does the "Blessing"? Whose is "it" anyway?
Peace

P.S.
As to "probability",
for those who love to look into THAT aspect a bit deeper,
let me show you what a famous man once wrote in a famous book:
“There are few persons, even among the calmest thinkers, who have not occasionally been startled into a vague yet thrilling half-credence in the super-natural, by coincidences of so seemingly marvelous a character that, as mere coincidences, the intellect has been unable to receive them.
Such sentiments - for the half credences of which I speak have never the full force of thought - such sentiments are seldomly thoroughly stifled unless by reference to the doctrine of chance, or, as it is technically termed, the Calculus of Probabilities.
Now this calculus is, in its essence, purely mathematical; and thus we have the anomaly of the most rigidly exact in science applied to the shadow and spirituality of the most intangible in speculation to the truth and the investigation of the truth was the object.”
- Edgar Allan Poe (Tales of Mystery and Imagination)
You see where this kind of dialectic leads the mind when it does not observe its own thinking??? More of it is in this free book I wrote between 1999 and 2001:
