The announcement of a controlled demolition in the MSM was necessitated by the irresistible fact that a clear majority of New Yorkers, at very least, were no longer buying into the official story. (Remember, that 98% of Americans have not investigated in any detail the "conspiracy theories" related to 9-11.)
The MSM is losing market share to the Internet at an accelerating rate. A little bit of truth was self-serving.
I should be more inclined to allow that most Americans "know in their hearts" that foreign oil dependency and a deeply troubled dollar are the rationale for the Iraq invasion. They may be ashamed to admit it, but it is just national self-interest.
This is the American character, whether one likes to admit it or not: self-righteous hypocrisy and a sense of entitlement masking anxiety and moral confusion.

- Anyhow, another "American character" might be what´s regarded as "naivity" which can turn out to be "positive" one day. If you enrage a child - it might act "non-predictable"...
