Let us look at the drug financial flows, measured in laundered dollars alone, which wind their way through our system on an annual basis. At no less than USD 500 billions, 40% percent of it reportedly works its way through the various exchanges, providing the marginal liquidity necessary to maintain inflated stock prices at current to rising levels.
What percentage of it is "invested" in real estate is someone else's guess.
So, take away the laundered money from the system, combine this with the removal of the Fannie Mae punch bowl, and poof goes the virtual ATM machine of credit card and home equity loans that keep the American economy afloat.
In California, 50% of the "job creation" over the last year was real-estate related.
The US economy is a hyper-inflated Potemkin Village. Growth in the American economy, whether "robust" or "anemic", is a mirage created by increased government spending, which now accounts for six out of ten dollars spent in the US economy. That is SIX BORROWED DOLLARS. If there are net gains in investment, those gains accrue to the military "defense" complex.
If the US Federal gov't were to cease spending on ALL wars, no matter their description or imputed efficacy, the American economy would seize up like an eighteen wheeler engine with a broken oil pump.
The sad truth is that martial law is most likely to be imposed, of necessity, when the American economy experiences an "end-of-liquidity event." How long the ship of state can be kept running on watered down diesel depends upon how long the rest of the world will continue to honor our markers.

Not only - this is no question "of honor" - it seems. As long as "other" countries - or to say better - their ptbs are profiteering as well from all this - just think of the heirs of the East-India-Company or the Netherland-"Connection(s)" - the wheels continue turning. Even with "watered diesel"...
