Drilling of a destructive hole through some version of the Holy Bible on cable TV is a despicable act which could incite a massive wave of protest.
Let us be thankful that this act is not as incendiary in the United States as the alleged desecration of the Koran apparently was in Afghanistan.
I suspect that conditions are such in Afghanistan that even a lesser reason would result in rioting.
It would likely prove to be very unhealthy for many of us were Americans to follow suit.
Though I personally do not watch TV and wouldn't watch such garbage even if I did, there certainly has to be purpose behind it. The way I, as a non-viewer, see this based on your excellent presentation is this.
The Rudy character is a third party to partially insulate Penn and Teller from the actual act.
Penn and Teller appear to be two greedy and spineless wannabes who would eat horsedroppings on camera for dollars and ratings and probably lack the mentality to actually see how they are being used and lack the morals to care if they did see.
The prop, with conspicuous redlight, globe and American flag may be regarded as psychological stacking of the deck to subconsciously instill effect.
It all appears to me to be a propagandist operation designed to help create conditions in the United States that could lead to over-reaction such as rioting which would play right into the hands of the dark side.
Protests, over singular incidents, are all too often made fulfilling a sense of moral duty and then forgotten.
When focus is shifted from boring the bible to the likes of Viacom and Warner Bros, plus the others you have tied in, attacking facts on 9-11, the murder of John F. Kennedy and the moon landing, the little act of drilling a book which is called the Holy Bible is an anchor to a bigger picture.
It is the bigger picture we want people to know about and be aware of and act on.
As a non-viewer and Freedom Fighter I would almost thank those people for assisting me and my cause. They appear boldly desperate and desperation leads to mistakes.
This particular act on this particular show seems, to me, to be one of those desperate acts. The dark force has already started to swallow its own tail.
